This hotel is a bit far from the main sights. While I was disappointed at first because it was a good 20 min walk to St Mark's, I realized that Venice was so overcrowded that it worked out in our favor. It was lovely and quiet and off the beaten path. However, I will say it was a bit quirky. Getting to and from the room was a bit of a maze, there were no elevators, and no one to help us with luggage when we had to leave early morning. The room was nice, quiet, but also dark - good for sleeping but not so much for daytime. Our room did not have any canal view, nor any view at all, so we kept the windows closed or else we looked into neighboring homes. Overall, this hotel was very nice and the front desk staff were helpful. Venice is a bit tricky to navigate so for those without a keen sense of direction, you may want to stay closer to the historic sights. Otherwise, this is a quiet hotel tucked away outside the distractions.…
A great hotel in a lovely quiet location but just a canal away from many lovely restaurants and cafes. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room quirky and beautifully decorated with a sparkling clean bathroom. Breakfast was self service with a good choice of hot and cold food. Would definitely recommend.
We chose this hotel based on the great reviews. It’s in the Northern part of Venice in a more quiet, residential location. Just over the bridge outside the hotel however, there is a fantastic strip along a canal full of little restaurants and bars. We chose a superior room and got lucky with room 316 - the only room of the hotel to have its own private terrace with seating and sunbathing bed. The room was very spacious, very clean and the bathroom was fabulous with a good selection of toiletries and necessities. The staff were lovely and very professional and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovey sat either in or outside (it’s first come first served so don’t complain at the staff when it’s full outside. Couldn’t believe the amount of people so desperate to sit outside and moaning at the staff when they’re going to be outside in Venice all day anyway….). There was a good selection of meats, cheese, eggs, cereals, breads, fruit, cake etc. Our room was always cleaned to a super high standard. It’s around a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Venice - ie St Mark’s square. If you’re not fit it could take longer. It’s also very close to a public water-bus stop (F. Nova) which is how we got to the hotel from Marco Polo airport. It’s also close to the train station and bus station - stand 2 for the ATVO coach to Treviso Airport, directly across from the ATVO ticket office. The most fabulous hotel in the best location with the best staff. Highly, highly recommend this hotel!…
Had a fabulous stay at this hotel. All the staff were very helpful. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the main centre, but is very close to some great restaurants and bars. Breakfast was good, rooms very clean and spacious. Lovely bar area with outside seating. A thank you to Gianfranco for looking after us. All in all a great stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The Hotel is set away from the main area, around a 25 minute walk. The staff are super helpful and the hotel itself is clean and quiet. It’s a lovely spot on an evening to sit outside and have a chilled drink with a canal running right outside the door. We went on the free trip to Murano and from there we made our own way to a couple of the other islands. If I was visiting Venice again I would definitely stay here.
The staff were cheerful, helpful and speak good English. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfasts were good (15 euros). It is close to the train station and an Alilaguna stop -- one that has a non-stop connection to the airport. As far as location goes, the only trouble is that it is a bit far from San Marco and other core Venice tourist attractions. With that one reservation, I enthusiastically recommend this hotel.
The hotel is very clean. The staffs' attitude are pretty good. The location is ok, it takes 13 to 15 mins to the train station and maybe 20 to 25 mins to walk to St Mark's Square. There are many restaurants within 5-10 mins walking distance. Room is nicely decorated with old and classic venetian style. The things I dislike: we were assigned to the part of hotel without elevator. We didn't know there is a part of hotel which has elevator unless later. It is 3 floors which has more steps and steeper than a regular apartment. We were kind of "shocked" after being walking through a long winding hallways and climbing to the 3 rd floors. Inside room, there are some steps as well. I would like to caution the mid age or older people with this situation since one person in our group is 83 years old. We had to plan ahead to limit the numbers of times in and out of hotel rooms. Had to pay attention walking between bathroom and bedroom since there are 3 steps in between. It was not very convenient at all. The floor of bathtub is uneven. It was likely made for people using the bathtub. We are the people who usually use showers. It was a little challenging to stand on that uneven surface to shower. …
Lovely hotel away from the crowds on a quiet canal. Hotel has tables and chairs out front on the canal to enjoy a quiet drink after a hectic day of sightseeing. Staff was friendly and room was very nice. Breakfast buffet was delightful. Would definitely stay here again!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. The location is just what we were looking for; off the beaten track in a relatively quiet neighborhood, but minutes from wonderful restaurants and only 20 minutes to the very popular tourist area. On arrival, we were escorted to our room through a bit of maze, walking through a small room and then down a hallway. The room itself was clean and spacious. It had two room “areas.” One room area had a daybed and a desk. The other area had two quite small beds. Each area had it s own TV. At the end of the room, was the bathroom which was adequate. What was that really odd, was that the room had only a skylight and one small window which was very, very high up the wall. Neither was reachable by hand and the coverings were controlled electronically. Not only was there no view of a canal, there was no view at all! It felt strange to not be able to see outside at any time while in the room. A bit like a dungeon. We decided to view it as cozy! Another odd thing about this hotel is that we were provided with only one key, and upon exiting the hotel each time we ventured out, we were required to leave that key with the desk. When we returned, they would give us our key back. Strange. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and our time in Venice.…
Took my wife for her 30th birthday for the weekend and I've got to say this hotel was perfect. We were upgraded to a superior room that was very nice and very clean. the hotel was situated a couple of small canals away from the Grand Canal so perfect walking distance away from the main sites but far away enough for it to be nice and quiet. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples or families.
