Room and bathroom both clean and nice, good value for money. The whole of Venice is small, confusing streets so just get yourself to San Giacomo dell'Orio square and the guesthouse is just around the corner. There's a renowned restaurant called Zucca close by and the square itself has a supermarket, restaurants and bars. Check in before 7pm or there...

This is very hard to find but we found everything is hard to find in Venice. It was very clean after we were able to get in and climb 3 floors to our room. We did enjoy meeting the other guests at breakfast. Like others, we did like the coffee. We did have difficulty with the front door key.

Great spot... difficult to find but what is not in Venice??? Just look for Museum of Natural Art (using tripadvisor) and you'll find it somewhere in that vicinity... Clean place and Monica is very friendly... All you can eat breakfast with nice espresso coffee. I would definitely stay there again.

Located in a residential apartment in Santa Croce, it is quite hard to find for first-timers to Venice. I got the instructions to the B&B from Monica (the proprietor) by email prior to my trip, and so was well-prepared to find the place. Located on the 3rd floor (no lifts), it consists of 4 rooms with 2 shared toilets and...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
