A tip – from the Airport take the blue line Alilaguna to Ospedale (15 euro) instead of St. Mark's Square. It will save you six stops and half an hour. The walk from Ospedale is ~7 minutes instead of of ~6 minutes from St. Mark's...More
A unique hotel in the heart of Venice but still remote from the bustling mass tourism. The staff offer great personal and genuine service and the rooms are just amazing. The breakfast is decent and sufficient, but without originality (this applies to most hotels in...More
Centrally located within Venice - a short walk to all attractions but in a very quiet piazza. Our room had beautiful room with high ceilings. Very spacious for a family. The staff at the front desk and servers at breakfast were friendly and very helpful.
Amazing room and very clean. The bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Staff were extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was in an ideal location . Would definitely recommend.

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
