Having travelled around Europe and various other continents I now know that finding a good hotel at a decent price is hard to come by, especially at New year. We visited Venice 6 years ago, again for New Year's Eve and as we found out Venice is a slightly more pricey place, especially at New Years. All hotels are in...

Came here in may with my girlfriend and another couple. I was looking for a cheaply priced hotel that was clean and nice and this place fit. I loved it. It was clean and the staff were incredibly nice. I was around Europe for 2 weeks and their staff were the nicest I came across. Gave us recommendations for dinner...

Not much more to tell after the title. It's a low budget hotel located in the heart of Venice. Prices more than reasonable. The room is clean, the towels are quite economical, but for the rate, buy one. No breakfast offered and staff is very friendly. I will return.

Super Location and value - I've been to Venice a number of times and always paid 4x the amount I did for hotel San Salvador. I must admit given the great value it exceeded all expectations. The location is just fantastic. It's pretty much on Rialto bridge! Thanks again! Dave and charlie

Having been to Italy a number of times I was a bit apprehensive when I booked this room as it was so cheap. Great value for superb room and FANTASTIC location. Thank you so much. I'll definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. It is greatly located, close to bars and restaurants. Specially, the lady at the counter is very friendly and make the guests feel welcome. The room is simple but it's also clean and comfortable.

Ambra at the front desk, her sister and the other staff members were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Definitely one of the best service we've come across. You can tell that the staff members there are enthusiastic about their jobs and their city, and are so eager to make your stay a lovely one. We learnt heaps about the history...

A very cozy place in the heart of Venice. It is literally steps from the famous Rialto bridge and walking distance to everything. Although it is centrally located, it is on a quiet street so you can sleep in peace at night. We had the best time roaming the streets of Venice at night and getting lost when there are...

I stayed here as a solo female traveller, and I had such a great experience. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Venice, steps from the Rialto bridge and literally walking distance to every attraction, even the train station. Ambra at the front desk was a breath of fresh air in an often rude city of locals -...

Lovely little hotel, more like a B&B than a hotel, very small but great friendly staff, the sisters are lovely, hard to tell them apart. My single room was great, small but with everything to hand, great little fridge and plenty of electrical sockets. Room and bathroom spotlessly clean and well appointed. There is no breakfast at the hotel but...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
