This hotel is near the Rialto bridge, which is a wonderful location in Venice. The boats to/from the train station and the airport stop at Rialto so unlike most people that visit Venice you will not have to walk with your luggage more than 5 minutes. The hotel is small and simple but clean. Rooms have AC and the wifi... More

I felt really lucky to be able to book a room in this hotel during the busy month of Masks Parade. Rate was still OK, location is just perfect... room is clean. We were mostly happy for the super friendly staff. the woman in short hair took time to really explain us everything about Venice. As this is a family... More

We had a great stay at San Salvador. The reception staff were fantastic, always very lively and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The room was small but in Venice where space is at a premium that is to be expected! But, out exploring all day it was all we needed. Good value, fantastic location and would recommend!

This is a very small hotel, more of a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast) really. It's down an alley, near the Rialto Bridge, but walking distance to everywhere. It has a little terrace, overlooking the alley, if you need a place to just sit, and you may as the rooms are very small. Ambra, the proprietor was wonderful. She... More

This hotel is a 1 minute walk from Rialto bridge in the centre of Venice. It is run by a great team. Amber and Stefania are very friendly and helped us with our endless questions, some even before we arrived ! The room was small but had everything we needed. It was also spotlessly clean and I didn't have to... More

We stayed in May 2016, and the hotel was easy to find from the realto vaporetto stop. The hotel is down a tiny dark alley, which many things in venice are, but is otherwise stops from piazza bartolomeo. The entrance is right beside the disney store. The hotel itself was small, and the shower was the smallest I have ever... More

Little tough to find if you take the wrong bus (I accidentally took Rialto market stop), This little gem could have been the best part of my trip to Venice! Once I arrived the wonderful hosts guided me to little treasure around Venice!! I came back every day of my three day trip to tell them where I had been... More

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Venice. He found this hotel and booked our trip as a surprise for my birthday. The hotel is an absolute gem! Yes, its small but is an absolute bargain for the location. 2 mins from the Rialto Bridge and less than 10 to Piazza San Marco. The room... More

The location is fantastic, within walking distance of all the sights. The staff are lovely, and couldn't be more helpful, making sure we knew where we were going every time we left the hotel. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. Would definitely return!

This hotel is in an excellent location very close to the Rialto Bridge, next to Campo Bartolomeo. Less than 5 min walk from the Rialto vaporetto stop and only about a 10 min. walk to Piazza San Marco. A narrow alley and a short flight of stairs leads to the reception desk, where you will often find one of the... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
