We were looking for a low cost break away to Venice main island and stayed at this typically Venetian hotel for only 2 nights but thought it was perfect for a short stay. The room was small but it had everything we needed. Breakfast was included which you don't always find, and the usual continental offerings were plenty for us.... More

Had a three night stay and booked quite late. We were very happy with our stay. Every member of staff we came across were very friendly and helpful from the cleaners to the reception. The shower was hot and the room was very clean and cosy. The only negative was that the wifi was that not good. The location was... More

The hotel I would definitely love to get back in another visit of Venice with no single hesitation. The staff was extremely polite, caring and helpful. And we were quite happy with our room though. Thank you for all the friendliness and hospitality.

The location of the little hotel is great, near all major attractions, yet in a really quiet alley. The décor is also Venetian style, although a bit verging on the run down. Our room is on the second floor, no lifts, so beware with larger suitcases. What previous reviewers have written is all true: the AC blasts away at 20... More

Although I have given this review for Hotel Mignon, we actually stayed in one of their apartments close to the Hotel The apartment was called “Laguna Rossa”. This is owned by the Hotel Mignon. It had 2 bedrooms rooms for our family of 5 and was in a great location with sea views from both the kitchen area and the... More

By nice room, with plenty of space for my family of 4. We stayed in an auxiliary building across the way from the main hotel. Very quiet, off the main street. Desk staff very helpful and friendly. Our included breakfast buffet was very good with abundant food and cappucino. Breakfast staff was also very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to... More

The location is very good, no effort in terms of reaching any point of interest in Venice. The hotel is especially cute, and, despite the size of the room and the fact that the AC could not be turned off, we had a good rest (the AC can though be set up so that it does not bother one while... More

I loved the location of this hotel. It is centrally located, close the the Rialto Bridge and far from the tourist packed San Marco. The staff were friendly, and there is a beautiful little courtyard with breakfast. The hotel doesn't have an elevator and we were on the third floor. The staff kindly carried up my suitcase, but commented on... More

You will have to walk a bit when arriving by water bus. Note when leaving to make sure you go to a stop where the #2 bus stops--the #2 does not stop at the closest. Hotel staff extremely nice and helpful. They will give you a map, so no need to buy one anywhere. Google Maps works amazingly well to... More

Very friendly stuff, La bella Cristina was very helpful! Clean and quite hotel with a very nice breakfast. The location is good, about 12 walk from san marco square. Usually it takes me some time to fall asleep in new places, slept like a baby there :)

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
