Stayed here for one night, well worth it! We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check in one hour early, as well as store our bags at the front desk the next day. Highly appreciated this! The room was clean and comfortable ,...More
This is a really lovely hotel in a quiet area of Venice away from the main tourist areas. The staff were brilliant, really friendly and helpful, the receptionist went out of her way to recommend things to us and this really made the trip. The...More
Off the beaten path, a more original feeling of Venice, not so touristy. We had a corner room on 2nd floor with 3 windows and the views were of a canel. The room itself was spacious and furnished nicely. The lady at the front desk...More

Dear customer, thank you for considering our hotel and appreciating the location and the room assigned. We are waiting for you again in Venice at our hotel, in the meantime we wish you a happy new year and good start !!
Our family of three ended up booking one of the apartments (the Guardi Apartment). Mainly because it was what was available and it was still far more reasonably priced than an extra bed in a hotel closer to the Grand Canal). The apartment had two...More

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob
in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

It's about a 30 minute bus ride to the bus dropoff/pickup area and then a 15 minute walk to/from the hotel. If you have lots of luggage this can be a difficult walk as you'll have to cross several bridges where you have to pick up the luggage to get up the steps. It's very walkable for most people. Don't waste your money on a water taxi.
