It was good, fantastic located really central in Venice, close to the train station. The street is quite loud filled with people but after 10 pm it gets more quiet. Elegant and friendly. You should go here.

Spent 3 nights here before joining a cruise , perfect location . Very close to the St Lucia train station, water taxi stops just outside the front door and if you don't have massive luggage an easy and quick walk from the bus station at Piazzale Roma. The rooms are very Venetian , clean but not huge. The front desk... More

Small rooms, and no elevator to top floor so it means dragging your suitcase up and down stairs and steps. Choose a lower floor. Small rooms and very small bathrooms, but you get that in 3 star hotels in all of Europe. Old man at reception was extremely rude. I would not stay there again if I ever go to... More

The location is perfect, especially if you have to arrive late at night like we did (after midnight). It's a pretty easy walk from the bus station if you travel light, and very close to the train station. We contacted the hotel beforehand and was told that someone would let us in even though they don't usually have front desk... More

The hotel you can almost say adjacent to the Venezia train station. You get water bus and all other commutation options just infront of the hotel. Overall a happening place with lots of restaurents and shops near by to the hotel. Also you get a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Any other hotel you select inside the heart of the... More

When I checked in I had been up for about 36 hours and was ready for some sleep. The room I stayed in was the absolute worse room I have ever stayed in. The ceilings were about 5 feet high and lower in most of the room and doorways. I could not even stand up in the bathroom and hit... More

Hotel was suprisingly nice considering on how it looked outside. Its was just a 5 min walk from the main train station. It has a beautiful venitian style and decor. Plus the visitor bathroom has a fishtank sink which is pretty cool. The rooms were fairly small, we booked a double and a single for a friend and were they... More

It's clean but old and dusty. I think that's pretty normal in Venice though. We liked the location since it was very close to the train station and just across the bridge of a local quartier where locals can still be found which it's very unusual in venice! The receptionist was extremely rude though which was a bit annoying.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
