(En) Amazing two night holiday spot from 14 up to 17. The owner was really kind and suggested us about how to move inside the city and what to do. Bedroom and bathroom were warm, spacious and clean. Typical Venice's view from the room windows of a canal. The breakfast served inside our room was good. Staff helpful, polite and...

I reserved a room 3 months before my vacation. In the evening of my arrival (not a single day of forewarning), the receptionist told me that my room was not available anymore "because of a system error". There was no error, of course: they probably booked my room to someone else for an higher price. Just after our talk, I...

Listen I rarely complain while traveling; but this place is a mistake! I arrived after a bus ride from the airport in Venice, and two waterbus taxes to finally reach the Cannagerio district where the hotel is located. The problem however is that THERE ARE NO SIGNS for this hotel! Attached you will see what the entrance of the Palazzo...

I usually only write good reviews but I dont want others to have the experience we did- We arrived in Venice and at Pallazo Rosa after already spending two wonderful weeks travelling through northern Italy. We had chosen Rosa due to my husband wanting to give me an extra special accomodation stay in Venice for my birthday so we doubled...

When we first arrived we were greated by rude staff - our "room" was not ready and were told to to come back in half an hour - needless to say I was not happy as it was a long trip and I had told them what time my arrival was ! The staff were rude and could clearly be...

We stayed in the Superior deluxe room and an amazing stay. The room is spacious and decorated beautifully. The location of the hotel is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk from the rialto bridge, less than 10 minutes walk from the San Marco and a lot of great (and not overpriced) restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the hotel. Furthermore...

After a week in Italy (Venice, verona and Florence) we returned to Venice to fly home. We only spent one night here and didn't arrive until gone 10pm. Found it very easily using directions from website. management had emailed us entry code and key was left in hallway for us. Our room was lovely, very comfortable bed and free chilled...

I should have been prudent and realised that something was awry when no photos of the interior were available.Palazzo Rosa sounded grand but I was not expecting to be offered such poor accomodation.I was given the annexe not the Palazzo itself. All I can say is that it felt like living in a third world home. There were no proper...

I can not emphasize enough how horrendous our experience of this dungeon was. The check in process was like something from a horror film (I'm laughing now I am safely at home but believe me, I wasn't then!) as after an hour of looking found this big door down a dark alleyway which popped open to reveal a derelict looking...

Short version: We stayed in the Annex building, not the main hotel. The room's cleaness was ok, the bed was terribly uncomfortable, the wall to the hall was really thin, Wifi worked, staff was weird and you had to shower very carfully so as to not get water on the wooden surroundings of the bathroom otherwise the room downstairs takes...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
