We had a wonderful stay at the Ca'Angeli - stayed in the Junior Suite, a beautiful, spacious, well appointed room facing the Grand Canal. We loved gazing out the window and hearing the gondoliers singing "volare" as they floated by. My father had one of the other rooms, although not on the canal, just as lovely and comfortable. The breakfast...

4 days in Venice staying at the Ca' Angeli was a real pleasure. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to do a bit of exploring its situation on the Grand Canal is an added bonus . I would definitely stay here again.

This small hotel may not have a bar or serve dinner, but it is housed in an original venetian building located on the Grand Canal, a short 5 minute stroll from the Rialto Bridge. With excellent rooms all en suite, plus a superb breakfast which includes fresh orange juice plus an array of fresh Italial foods. The staff are always...

I expected a more traditional hotel, it felt more like a b&b, but a great place to stay in central venice. The views over the canal grande from the breakfast room were fabulous, as was breakfast. The room was all we could wish for, with a bath tub and great beds, very quiet. The staff was friendly, but a little...

We had a great stay at this bed and breakfast. They have a landing pier and a water taxi dropped us close to hotel. Staff is there 24 hours, the breakfast is good so is the internet. The location is in the middle of Venice and you can walk everywhere. We left on a water taxi at 3:35AM, the hotel...

We returned to Venice after 10 years to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and what a lovely little place to stay. Our room was spacious and quiet and such a comfy bed! Breakfast was great; plenty of choice and what a way to start the day - overlooking the Grand Canal!! The staff are friendly and if you don't want...

Stayed here for a few nights in February 2017 with my partner, and what after looking at trip advisor reviews and finding a good price on booking.com, definitely a lovely little find! The hotel is on the grand canal and depending on what room you go for, you can get a view over looking it. Everything in Venice is in...

Our room was beautiful, clean, well maintained and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with house-made pastries, fresh orange juice, toast, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, toast, cheeses, and a variety of meats. The breakfast room, furnished with elegant antique furniture, overlooks the canal, and is bright and comfortable. The staff is friendly and hospitable and very helpful with suggestions for dinner...

If you like antiques like me (aka Vintage Princess) you will love this hotel. The room is huge and just perfect. In Venice you walk so thank goodness for wonderful apps these days and this hotel was close to the station, the square and restaurants. It is on a canal so go early for breakfast because there is one table...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
