The Ca Angeli was nice and clean, and in a good location. The 4 out of 5 is due to a bed that was too hard. Really hard! Georgio check us in when we arrived at midnight and was very informative. He told us about the area, and the best ways for us to get back to the airport at... More

We spent three nights here and found the hotel to be in an excellent location for viewing the sights. It did take us a while to find the place from the vaparetto stop initially but that's Venice :) The room was very comfortable - it overlooked a side canal. Breakfast was excellent, with lovely views of the Grand Canal.

Lovely little hotel. Room was quaint and pretty. Breakfast room was gorgeous overlooking the canal. Owner was very helpful. Hotel is very close to the main shops and restaurants. Once you have found the hotel tucked away down the backstreets for the first time it is very easy to return to after

I booked this in advance on recommendation from friends who had recommended even though I'd been to Venice before. Location was fabulous combining easy access to Grand Canale, vaporetto, shops, etc with quiet back street. Our room was small but had huge rooftop balcony which we used to chill out between sightseeing in early part of HOT day and evening... More

We stayed in Ca' Angeli for our first trip to Venice, and we are very glad we did. We arrived by vaporetto from the central station and found the hotel easily through the winding narrow streets thanks to the information we received when booking directly through their website. We were also lucky enough to be upgraded to a large room... More

Weekend trip to beautiful Venice. Signage to the Hotel could be better. 1 mark for the good location and the other for the large rooms. Didn't like excessive control. Furniture in room. But, notice not to use the draw. No eating message in room. Coffee was luke warm for breakfast and served in a massive jug. The owners cannot be... More

Ca' Angeli is located directly off the canal. Wonderful accommodations and extremely nice staff. During check in, the staff gave us a lot of information that we would need during our stay. I can say, it was more than enough, but helped tremendously. Our room was located off the main floor; so, we didn't have to worry about stairs outside... More

Finding a place in Venice is a challenge and I was prepared for a shoebox with a skylight but Ca' Angeli was anything but. It is on the top two floors of a building which fronts onto the Grand Canal with the entrance back along the 'street'. The room was large, light, with a view across the rooftops, huge bed,... More

Our family was here for a short stay - less than 24 hours however was very impressed with this hotel and its service. We got a trio room for 3 people. Bathroom is very nice, newly built (I think) with both standing shower and bathtub, Probably the newest bathroom in all of our stays in Europe this time! Our closet... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
