    A lovely hotel
Having visited Venice several times, staying in various locations ranging from apartments to large luxury hotels, we were looking for something different. Hotel Ai Reali di Venezia was a great choice, with a great location on a small canal within a short walking distance from St Marks Square, but quiet and uncrowded. We had travelled to Venice on The Orient Express, so we were taken to the hotel by private water taxi - the hotel has its own water entrance -a lovely way to arrive! Our room on the first floor was lovely- very spacious, with windows overlooking the small courtyard. The marble bathroom was not huge, but had twin sinks, and a great shower. We enjoyed the welcome bottle of Prosecco. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items. We had dinner in the hotel’s Michelin recommended restaurant “Alle Corone”, which was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and hope to return when we can travel again.

Real feel of Venice in the good old days
We spent 4 nights in this beautiful and very centrally located Hotel. Our room was very spacious with a view onto a small canal. Big bathroom with walk in shower and a separate lounge with a TV. Staff at Reception, the outside bar and at Breakfast are very friendly and helpful. Reception will organise a water taxi and excursion for you if desired. If you decide to take a water taxi from Torchetto Parking directly to the hotel it will cost you 80-90 Euros. Due to Covid-19 breakfast is served at the table which in fact is very pleasant, especially when whilst eating you are watching gondolas floating passed the window..... The Hotel is situated in a quiet corner of the city, however you can reach the Rialto Bridge in 5 min (also your nearest Vaporetto stop) and St. Marcus Square in 10-15 min. There are many excellent Restaurants in the vicinity. There is also a pharmacy close by should require this. Should we ever return to Venice we would again stay at the Ai Reali
Dear Madam/Sir Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and for choosing our hotel. I am glad you appreciated our style of hospitality. Your words and satisfaction are the best award for the efforts, commitment and passion that we dedicate every day to our profession. Best regards Giancarlo N. – Hotel Manager

Wonderful and romantic stay for our honeymoon
This hotel was the perfect choice for a romantic stay on our honeymoon. We were so pleased to find they had treated us to a bottle of Prosecco and left rose petals for us on our bed when we arrived - it was a sweet touch. The hotel was very easy to get to via ferry from the train station - just follow the signs to the Rialto Bridge and it is closeby. It feels like a private oasis right in the heart of Venice. Inside, the hotel feels very luxurious and grand, from the beautiful marble foyer to the well appointed and decorated rooms. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and enough space. The breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from, and we loved sitting at the table right by the canal and watching the morning 'traffic'! We ate at the restaurant for dinner and found it to be fine dining at its best. We loved listening to the live music at the bar too. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly and made checking in and out an easy process, and helped us with all questions we had. Thank you so much, we can't wait to visit again soon. Natalie & Josh
Dear 993nataliem, First of all, thank you for having chosen Ai Reali di Venezia for your stay. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed your stay to the fullest, also thanks to our sweet touches, the convenient and peaceful location, the rich breakfast as well as our Ristorante Alle Corone and our helpful staff. Looking forward to welcoming you again soon for a second stay with us, Kind Regards, Dott.sa E. Baroldi, Marketing & Communication, Historical Palaces & Hotels

Amazing hotel. Great service and great location. Alessandra C. Made our Venice trip perfect. She is amazing. Rooms are big and we had 3 windows opening up on a Gondola canal. The bathroom was so nice. I spent all day just watching the Gondolas.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ai Reali. The staff went out of their way to help us have a great visit in Venice. Everyone we encountered- including front desk, bell staff, restaurant, and housekeeping were warm and kind. In my experience, that doesn’t happen by accident. It usually comes from excellent management. We did not meet management but wish to congratulate them on providing a lovely experience. By the way the bar and restaurant are cozy and delicious. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Hotel Ai Reali first week of June and had a wonderful experience with our room, the staff, and the amenities. Our room was a Junior Suite and it was so spacious we could have held a cocktail party for 30 in it without any crowding. The furnishings were beautiful (including the Murano glass light fixtures/chandeliers) and the sitting area living room was a wonderful treat at the end of a day sauntering all over Venezia. I especially liked going out on the terrace late at night and watching the happenings in the campo and on the canal. The location of this hotel is outstanding if you are familiar with Venice. You can easily stroll to the Rialto Bridge or to St. Marks in about 5 minutes, and there are terrific restaurants and late night spots close by if you explore the less traveled side streets. We were seated at what seemed to me the best table in the restaurant when we dined there on Friday evening, and we had a marvelous experience there as well. (Be sure to order the wine pairings with your dinner!) Service was excellent there just as it was everywhere in the hotel. I would be remiss if I did not especially call out the front desk staff who were never too busy to greet us or help with any question no matter how naïve. They arranged private transfers for us both on arrival (young man with a sign waiting for us at the airport) and at departure. One should always arrive at one's hotel in Venice via the canal entrance -- it's how it was meant to be done. The charming young woman who was always at the desk in the morning even helped us with questions about arranging a stay during Carnevale in 2025 even though there are obviously no reservations or rates available yet. We look forward to staying at the Ai Reali again in March 2025 for Carnevale -- try to save the room above the campo door for us as we adored it!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. We were only there for three days two nights, the first night the air conditioner broke we had asked for them to fix it, they were unable. We asked if we could switch rooms, they then offered us a plug in fan instead, and said that they would get the problem fixed first thing in the morning. We then woke up in the morning we were told to leave our room so that the people could come and fix our air conditioner. We had breakfast for about an hour as this is the time that they said it would take to fix the AC. We then went back to our room after breakfast, was found that the air conditioning was still being fixed. They told us maybe another hour. We then went out for around eight hours, and returned to our room, only to find that they were still continuing to fix the air conditioner. We then asked for some sort of compensation, since our room was unable to be used for most of the time while being there. We had stayed out during the day and had to spend money, eating, drinking, shopping, etc. And they were still not done fixing the AC. We then Went to the front desk to ask them to assist us in a partial refund. They said they were unable too and offered us a room upgrade for the night at 8 PM and we were leaving the following morning around 7 AM. they instead offered us a ride on a water taxi for free to the airport which cost around €150 and then took it back. Our room cost €570 per night, the least they could have done was help us to get home. The room was of no use to us and the hotel refused to accommodate us in any other way. I would 100% not recommend this hotel to any one, it would be a waste of your money.

First of all, we are sorry for the problem you encountered. In reality, however, things did not go exactly as you described. You emphasized a situation caused by a glitch that can happen. Two people worked all day to try to solve the problem but unfortunately this was not possible as spare parts were needed and we did not have them available. In the morning, when we met it was not possible to know and we hoped to solve it. When we realized it you were out of the hotel and it was not possible to warn you. Upon your return we gave you full assistance in a courteous and professional manner even if there was an unfriendly attitude on your part and phrases that clearly showed us that your goal was to have a totally free stay. As we kindly and precisely explained to you, a direct refund was not possible for several reasons: the first is that your stay is paid for by a third party and therefore a direct refund on the spot would have been impossible; the second reason is that a 100% refund cannot be claimed for a problem of this type: the Frankfurt table, used internationally by the travel sector, which for these cases provides for a refund of between 10% and 20%, but we will be able to do it only through the agency through which you have booked and which you must contact. In fact, to alleviate the inconvenience, we have made available to you a Luxury Suite of 85 square meters for the second night, and in addition we offered you a taxi worth 150 euros for the transfer to the airport and all assistance for facilitate the last part of your stay. Evidently our commitment has not been recognized by you and you have underestimated it. Probably sometimes being courteous, professional and generous is a strategy that does not pay off. Best regards

What an amazing experience! This hotel is so lovely, with rooms that have an old school charm and impeccable service. We loved staying here. Our only incident was broken AC in our (otherwise spectacular!) room; the hotel staff offered to move us, which we accepted the third night. Unfortunately we learned you don’t keep the windows open in late May due to mosquitoes! But we appreciate how accommodating the hotel was and we enjoyed every romantic minute.

We stayed four nights at the end of March 2023. Location was excellent, staff members were friendly, jr suite was beautiful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much, nice variety and delicious. Private tour and gondola booked through the hotel were fantastic. Our stay was nice, but I can't say it was fantastic. Here is why: 1) I booked a jr suite many months in advance, and was assured a certain jr suite via email, per my request. When we checked in, we were shown to a different suite, much less desirable. It was basically a room with a tiny, dark alcove, not directly over the canal, that was categorized as "jr suite". I was very disappointed, and referenced the email I had received that confirmed the other jr suite. Luckily, after a few hours wait, they remedied the situation and produced the room that had originally been promised. A rather disappointing way to start. 2) Upon checkout, I was presented with the folio, informed that I could leave a gratuity for the staff... and was directed to a line to fill in a gratuity amount, with an "x" drawn next to it to call my attention to it. I inquired about who exactly would receive the gratuity, and was given a vague answer of "all the staff" We stayed at several other luxury properties in Italy, and none of them hinted or asked for a staff gratuity. I was so taken by surprise by this request for a gratuity that I inadvertently and regrettably left more than I should have, as I did not have time to think. This left me with a somewhat negative feeling and impression at the end of our stay, which was a shame. No Globalist recognition.

Dear Mrs Carol, Thank you very much for having stayed with us! We appreciate you dedicated some of your precious time to share your experience at Hotel Ai Reali. All the staff is delighted to know you enjoyed the vacation in our beautiful city. And thank you for your remarks, it is something that will help us. Ours is a historical Venetian palace with all the different rooms that have unique and specific characteristics. We are sorry if the Junior Suite initially allocated did not match your preferences. We usually go beyond the expectations of our beloved guests; in your case we had a last-minute emergency and at your arrival the requested room was not available, but we managed to fix the issue, reason why lately you’ve got the desired room. With regards to the second mentioned point, please consider that at check out, before paying the final bill, the guests are presented with a preview to verify all the charges and make sure everything is correct; it is done with the best intentions and in the guests’ interests. A signature is asked to accept the charges whenever the clients ask to charge the credit card on file, and the gratuity field (absolutely not a must) is for the guests who wish to express their gratitude and appreciation for the received service. Please contact us, we’ll be happy to reverse the amount; we don’t want any regrets for our guests. Ai Reali staff has a saying “if the guest is happy, I’m happy”. The well-being, happiness and serenity of our guests are the things we care about the most and that feed our passion for what we are doing every day. We truly hope to have the pleasure and chance in welcoming you again for a fantastic stay with positive feelings from the beginning till the end! Best regards,

We just visited the Ai Reali at end of March 2023 and it was amazing and we loved it! We had a junior suite which was beautiful and perfect for us! The location is great and so convenient to walk to everything and has a private canal entrance as well. But what makes this hotel really special are the people and the service. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and to help us. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and hope to come back one day soon!!!

From the time my husband & I started looking for a luxurious hotel in Venice to celebrate our #55 anniversary, we especially liked the suites at the Hotel Ai Reali plus it offered a private pier for our water transfers. We are extremely happy that we choose Hotel Ai Reali as the staff was very efficient and prompt in answering all emails/questions plus arranging our private water taxi transfers. The entire staff (Alessandra, Sergiu, Martina, Eugenio, Nicholas, Nicole and everyone else we dealt with) always had a welcoming smile and a friendly greeting each time we arrived in the lobby. We really appreciated the arrangements they made for us to have a small breakfast consisting of pastries, snacks, juice and coffee in the lobby in time for our early 6am departure for the airport. Our deluxe suite was absolutely beautiful that exuded "Old Venice" charm. The king bed was so comfortable, spotlessly clean and quiet. The huge bathroom with double-vanity, large walk-in shower and heated floors was spectacular!! The daily breakfast buffet was excellent with many options to choose from. One day I ordered an omelet and it was delicious & cooked to perfection. The entire breakfast staff were remarkable and efficient, plus one sweet lady, Deborah, who always made sure we had a cozy booth or great table by the window. The entire hotel from top to bottom was fabulously decorated and the famous Murano chandeliers were handing everywhere! The location is perfect with only a few short steps away from the Rialto Bridge, numerous restaurants and shopping areas. All in all, this was a fabulous and memorable anniversary trip where we got to explore parts of Venice that we had not seen before, finally got to take not 1 but 2 gondola rides, visited numerous churches & museums, dined on some exquisite foods, endulged in various drinks and tasty gelatos. I ended up taking over 2300 photos so now time to make my travel book. The BEST COMPLIMENT I could give the Hotel Ai Reali is...if and when we visit Venice again, we will MOST DEFINITELY stay here!! Grazie Mille to the entire staff, Agnes & Jerry McKamey

I stayed as a solo traveler from the U.S. The moment I opened the door, the interior decor looked amazing and luxurious! The Pros: The benefits and reasons to book the hotel. 1. Water Taxi entrance and exit for convenience! Easy and safe transportation from and to the Venice Santa Lucia Train Station! 2. The front desk staff will help schedule a water taxi for the day you check out of the hotel. Tip: It costs $80 Euros from the hotel to the train station. Pay with Euros cash if you can. 3. Upon arrival, the front desk will provide you with a map of the entire Venice island and surrounding islands with location marks of where you are. 4. Breakfast buffet included. 5. An ATM with currency conversion on the first floor on the right side of the front desk. You can get cash in Euros. 6. A secure safe lock in the room to store your passport and important personal items. 7. Mini fridge, TV, and nice closet in the room 8. Room includes a great AC (air conditioner) that converts the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Tip: The default setting has cold air on until the temperature reaches 69.5 degrees Fahrenheit then the AC turns off. When the room got too cold, I was able to turn the heat on by increasing the Fahrenheit temperature degree. 9. Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Nicholas was great at providing directions to recommended Murano glass stores and Gelato in Venice. He also gave advice on the best time when to go to Murano island with directions. Alessandro made my checkout transition smooth by scheduling the water taxi. Some other notes: Water public transportation in front of the train station is packed with people (no elbow room) making it easy for pickpocketing. Only when arriving and leaving, I prefer the private water taxi to avoid pickpocketing in massive crowds on the public water bus (vaporetto) because I had my luggage and valuables on me. Cons - Not any really! 1. The water in my shower was boiling and scalding hot. The hotel staff quickly got a tech to fix the water temperature control in my shower so that I could get warm and cooler temperatures. 2. Watch out for the steep step in front of the door. Don't fall! (It might depend on the room) Overall, I recommend this hotel for an affordable luxury and relaxing stay in Venice! I felt like a princess in the Marie Antoinette time era with the paintings on the wall.
