Having visited Venice several times, staying in various locations ranging from apartments to large luxury hotels, we were looking for something different. Hotel Ai Reali di Venezia was a great choice, with a great location on a small canal within a short walking distance from St Marks Square, but quiet and uncrowded. We had travelled to Venice on The Orient Express, so we were taken to the hotel by private water taxi - the hotel has its own water entrance -a lovely way to arrive! Our room on the first floor was lovely- very spacious, with windows overlooking the small courtyard. The marble bathroom was not huge, but had twin sinks, and a great shower. We enjoyed the welcome bottle of Prosecco. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items. We had dinner in the hotel’s Michelin recommended restaurant “Alle Corone”, which was excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and hope to return when we can travel again.

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful and very centrally located Hotel.
Our room was very spacious with a view onto a small canal. Big bathroom with walk in shower and a separate lounge with a TV.
Staff at Reception, the outside bar and at Breakfast are very friendly and helpful.
Reception will organise a water taxi and excursion for you if desired.
If you decide to take a water taxi from Torchetto Parking directly to the hotel it will cost you 80-90 Euros.
Due to Covid-19 breakfast is served at the table which in fact is very pleasant, especially when whilst eating you are watching gondolas floating passed the window.....
The Hotel is situated in a quiet corner of the city, however you can reach the Rialto Bridge in 5 min (also your nearest Vaporetto stop) and St. Marcus Square in 10-15 min.
There are many excellent Restaurants in the vicinity. There is also a pharmacy close by should require this.
Should we ever return to Venice we would again stay at the Ai Reali

This hotel was the perfect choice for a romantic stay on our honeymoon. We were so pleased to find they had treated us to a bottle of Prosecco and left rose petals for us on our bed when we arrived - it was a sweet touch. The hotel was very easy to get to via ferry from the train station - just follow the signs to the Rialto Bridge and it is closeby. It feels like a private oasis right in the heart of Venice.

Inside, the hotel feels very luxurious and grand, from the beautiful marble foyer to the well appointed and decorated rooms. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and enough space.

The breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from, and we loved sitting at the table right by the canal and watching the morning 'traffic'! We ate at the restaurant for dinner and found it to be fine dining at its best. We loved listening to the live music at the bar too.

The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly and made checking in and out an easy process, and helped us with all questions we had.

Thank you so much, we can't wait to visit again soon.

Natalie & Josh

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and ended-up being in a flat 400 m from the hotel. It belongs to the hotel, but it's like an airbnb, no daily clean-up, no hotel services. (Yes, you can walk 400 m in the streets of Venice to use the gym etc, but it turns out to be like an airbnb not a hotel). If I wanted an airbnb, I would have booked it. Anyway, location was good, staff replied our mails. For that price, I would have liked a hotel ... This was absolutely not on the booking page, I found out few days before arrival when the hotel sent a mail that it was a 'seld-catered' room.

Dear julienp774, We are grieved to read your review, and we are truly sorry, especially because it was very clear - from the exchanged emails - that you've booked that particular apartment and not a room inside Ai Reali di Venezia. Please kindly note that everything is written on our website and on every booking platform as well. That's why we are even more sorry to read that you didn't know it was an apartment. As you know, you - like all our guests - were more than welcome to use all the services offered by our hotel (breakfast, spa, gym, restaurant, bar, tours etc). On the other hand, we are glad to see that you appreciated our central location, just few steps from St Mark's Square, and our professional staff. We truly hope to welcome you again - next time staying in the main building. Best Regards, Dott.sa E. Baroldi, Marketing & Communication, Historical Palaces & Hotels

Our family of 4 (2 adults & children aged 9 & 11) travelled to Venice for 2 nights. With such a short stay, I wanted a hotel (a) on a canal (b) 4* - 5* (c) traditional but still with modern comforts (d) close to everything! I did my research (as I always do!) and am so happy to say that the effusive reviews of this hotel are spot on! It far exceeded all our expectations. We caught private water taxi, arriving at the private pier (well worth the cost of E120). We arrived late Friday evening and were greeted with an upgrade. The suite was amazingly beautiful, with Murano glass chandeliers, views of the canal (king bed for us and sofa bed made up for the kids). As others have said, the hotel is less than 5 mins walk to Rialto Bridge and the associated shopping area as well as less than 10 mins to St Marco's square. Staff were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with top tips on sights to see. The hotel provided a free Murano glassblowing tour and associated walk through their factory (we were picked up by private water taxi - the factory was exquisite but we didn't buy anything from there, although I was in the market for a Murano vase).

Breakfast was lovely with all essential items you would expect from such a quality hotel. What a find!

Sorry this review is so very late!! I will never forget my trip to Venice and it was all the more memorable due to this lovely hotel and staff 😍 My friend and I stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it, the room was stunning and even had a bottle of sparkling prosecco on arrival.
I emailed beforehand to say that the trip was a special one to celebrate my 50th Birthday and I'm sure we received an upgrade, the room really was stunning, made me feel so special. I really couldn't have asked for more. The views at breakfast watching Gondolas passing by was magical and after a busy day sightseeing the spa was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours before dinner. I want to return would certainly be to this beautiful hotel with amazing staff. I will never forget my 50th even with the torrential rain it didn't spoil our trip, the hotel is so perfectly located you can get to everywhere easily in a matter of minutes. Thanks again and I will certainly be back again one day 😘😘😘

Beautiful luxurious hotel perfectly placed to see the sights in Venice. We stayed 4 nights & stayed in a junior suite which was spacious & wonderfully decorated in Venitian style with a fabulous marble bathroom. We had a canal view room & it was lovely to see the occasional gondola float by. The location of the hotel is brilliant & it is only a very short walk to the Rialto bridge & San Marco piazza.
The staff were so helpful & they really made our visit even more special. There was a large choice for Breakfast & it was served at your table because of Covid restrictions. We also had the opportunity to dine in the Michelin guide restaurant for dinner & had the 6 course tasting menu ( which was 8 courses in total) which was a fantastic experience & totally delicious.
We loved our stay in this hotel, it made our trip very special.

The hotel is beautifully located a 2 minute walk from the Rialto and 8 minutes from San Marco yet in a quiet location. The professional staff and understated eloquence and beautiful rooms qualifies as a top rating for the hotel. The breakfast is excellent, very plentiful.

Owing to delayed and canceled flights, we only spent one night at the Hotel ai Reali. That said, the hotel did exactly what it needed to do for us - it was clean, comfortable, cool, centrally located and reasonably priced (in a city where it is easy to spend $1,000 per night). The Hotel ai Reali is situated on a canal which makes for a nice arrival and departure via water taxi. The hotel is also located just 10-15 mins walking from all of the major sites in Venice. We reserved a Superior Room and found it to be quite comfortable, cool and clean. The shower was a great place to wash off Venice after a hot and humid day. Kudos go to the concierge team who helped us arrange our arrival, departure and our tours, to Alessandra at the front desk who helped rearrange things when our flights were delayed, and Milos in the bar who made some great cocktails to help us forget our travel woes! If I had one piece of feedback, I would say that breakfast could be improved with some made to order eggs - the scrambled eggs on offer at the buffet were less than appetizing.

I choose to see out a 'significant' birthday in Venice and spent hours deliberating on where to stay. I was so pleased I chose Hotel Ai Reali - what an absolute treat. I never usually splash out on accommodation and by Venice standards this was very reasonable.

The room (superior double) was just lovely, great size, lovely big bed, with a canal view. A few treats from management for my birthday were very gratefully received. The use of the spa whilst it was pouring with rain was just lovely. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible and are happy to answer any questions you have. We got lots of useful advice.

The hotel is tucked away in a nice quiet spot but super close to everything including the Rialto stop for the airport - just a 5 min walk away.

All in all we had a very special trip to Venice, and the hotel played a huge part in it.

The private water taxi will be costly around 100 euros. Best way, go to the water taxi from the Rialto bridge which is a short walk to Piazzale Roma. From there you can take a taxi or connect using ‘people mover’. The people mover is very cheap and short distance to the port. But, it a long walk at the port to get to the ship depending on the pier. The taxi might be faster.

We took the public water boat that dropped us off close to the hotel with a few minutes walk to the hotel and was easy enough Or spend the 100$+/- and take a water taxi right to the door. That all depends on how much walking and figuring out you want to do. Venice is small but easy to get lost in, which is part of the fun for me anyhow. If in doubt spend the money until you get acclimated to the city, which won't take long. The hotel is a great location for everything which is a more key point and why we picked it. Close to St Marx but not so congested.
