We loved staying at La Porta d'Oriente! Location is fantastic, right in the middle of Venice. We loved walking over the bridge to the front door of the palazzo. The perfect place to wander from and get 'lost' in Venice, the closest you could get to feeling like a true Venetian! The suites are very luxurious and spotlessly clean. My only complaint is we couldn't stay longer - we even asked but they were fully booked!
I am a bit hesitant to write this review because I like to keep this place for myself ;-) La Porta D’Oriente is in an ancient palazzo. I stayed in the Zen room, which has a modern interior. This did not bother me: the room was very nice and clean. The rest of the B&B gives the Venetian atmosphere that makes it so special. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is not included. For €5 you get a wonderful and very extensive breakfast. Great coffee. The location is central, at a lovely square. Good local restaurants nearby. The owner/manager Cinzia did everything to make our stay wonderful. She had good tips about where to go and eat. Her wonderful personality made me feel I was staying with a friend instead of in a hotel. Definitely will come back.
It was my third time in venice.city of love, art and history. The hotel is situated in a beautiful old building.Room was big and fully equiped.love washroom .Airconditioning.details that were but to make the stay comfortable were kettle with coffemaker and tea and ironingstand with an iron.i loved everything about this place.early checking was comfortable.if you are travelling with a baby or senior citizen or have mobilitt issues then this place is not recommended as you have to cross 3 bridges from rialto to reach this place and same goes with strollers. But if you are a couple then this place is a gem.highly recommended for solo and couples for an amazing experience
A wonderful accommodation and location was spectacular. An amazing experience in and of itself to have stayed in a geniune 500 yr old Palazzo. Staff was very kind and helpful. The dining room was spectacular and the breakfast buffet was minimal, but fresh and perfectly satisfying. Very oddly, however, the price of it was not included in the room. (Maybe it was because of the discounted room special that we booked under?) Anyway, I do strongly recommend regardless. It easily compares to any 5 star historic hotel I have ever stayed in. We had the Venetian looking room and it was as pretty as it looks in the photos. We came at an odd time (very early AM) due to the delayed Ferry and the owner, Cynzia, met us regardless.
The staff are very welcoming and could not be more helpful and gave great recommendations for dinner. We stayed in the flat over looking the square with gondalas going past the window! Just stunning. The building is fascinating as it was an old palace with so much history. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.
