This hotel is situated in one of Venice's side streets (as most hotels are!!). It is about 5 minutes walk from St Mark's Square in one direction and the same distance to the Rialto Bridge. There were 3 of us sharing a room which was large and airy (unusual for a European hotel). The bathroom was spacious, lots of complimentary...

Centrally located, with helpful staff who were willing to assist in planning trips & transfers. Rooms are modern, clean, nicely appointed and generous in proportion. Nice gym/spa. - Located on a noisy street which can resulted in broken sleep. Breakfast spread was average.

This hotel was very nice, clean, and modern. It is located close to St. Mark's square on a small side street. We took a water taxi from the train station and were able to walk right from the boat into the hotel. The check-in was quick and easy and the person at the front desk even escorted us up to...

Being very close to The Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square this hotel is ideally located. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The downside is that the restaurant is shared with its older sister hotel, and the standard of food is below par. The buffet breakfast whilst extensive is not particularly good quality. The restaurant for dinner was...

Fantastic location guaranteed. The rooms modern and very clean. Housekeeping team are outstanding, cleaned our room every day and also provided a turn down service without any additional charge. The breakfast was lovely, we also ordered it via room service and the portion were very generous. The only disappointment they have no kettle in the room and as we like...

Very nice location... Close to rialto port. Very new lobby and rooms. The bad thing is that they use the same breakfast room with the neighbour old hotel. Breakfast is not very rich in content. Overall strongly recommended.

Ended up staying here for 2 nights without really checking out other 4 star hotels. I was not disappointed. Great spacious room. Good bath & shower. Lots of windows (with views of roofs). Top marks for nice room & bed. Location is very good....a few mins walk of St Marks square. No noise. It's part of a complex of hotels...

We had a short break in this hotel in an unseasonably hot early September. The hotel is beautifully presented and it was lovely to arrive by boat right at the door. What a start! The welcome was great and the room well-appointed, albeit ours had no view at all from it. The room itself was large and very comfortable with...

Best point about this hotel is it's location; less than five minutes walk to either the Realto Bridge or St Marks Square and absolutely convenient for the major sights of this wonderful city. Staff were efficient rather than friendly. Our room - the Superior - was the basic room in this part of the hotel. (The sister hotel is next...

This is a lovely hotel in the Rialto area central to all the sights. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was decorated to a high standard, also very clean. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied with good coffee. We dined in the restaurant on our first night and had a set menu which included a drink,...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
