Hotel, clean nice concierge great. Breakfast on the front terrace great. Hidden gem...fabulous surprise was the dinner/ evening boat cruise on the Grand canal. An experience not to be missed...great way to cap off visit! The dinner on their private rooftop terrace worth the price of €40/person alone! Cruising on a private boat along the grand canal in the evening,... More

I would definately come back to this hotel if I decided to travel to Venisia again. I already recommanded it to one of my workmate last week. It contributed to a very nice trip. Knowing you walk a lot in this town, it is very important to be able to get some good sleep.

When we decided on a visit to Venice I was adamant I wanted a canal view with french windows and a hotel with a jetty so that we could transfer from the airport on one of the lovely traditional wood motor boats. The reception staff were extremely helpful and we managed both wishes. The hotel is an old venetian palace... More

The hotel is very nice, and very good service. Highlights are breakfast out the front watching the world go by on the Grand Canal!! (Not always available) And the roof top terrace is lovely with fab views. We took the offered dinner and boat trip one evening offered by the hotel, and it was fantastic. 40 euros each. The food... Spent one hight in Venice on our way back from Jesolo to London (last year in Sept 2015). The location of Foscari Palace hotel is fantastic, right on the Grand Canal riverbank, close to Rialto Bridge and Water bus stop - Cadoro, Gondela etc Plenty of shops and restaurants on doorsteps yet quiet location. There is also a casino 10-15... More

From the airport we took a water taxi which drops you off right at the hotel. The hotel is located on the Grand Canal, a short walk to a vaparrato stop. We stayed in the junior suite over looking the canal, the room is very large, we figured about 450 square feet. We were originally concerned about noise from the... More

Lovely hotel in a smashing location on the grand canal. Arrival to the door by speed boat a must! Spacious rooms, a nice roof terrace overlooking the canal for a secluded drink. Quiet enough at night to ensue a peaceful sleep and walking distance to all places of interest Gondola stop for tours and water crossing right outside. Very nice... More

This hotel is situated right on the Grand Canal so is easy to get to anywhere via the water buses. Close to lots of restaurants and shops.Although the hotels most expensive rooms are on the canal front they are very noisy from the traffic going all night up and down. the hotel itself was lovely and the staff so helpful... This boutique hotel is original an old palazzo placed directly at Canal Grande with the Rialto Market at the opposite side of the canal. This makes it possible for you to arrive by speedboat to the hotel feeling like a 60's film star - a most. The central location of the hotel was perfect for our 4 night stay in... More

Modern hotel in an old hose by Canal Grande. Easy walk to all major sites. Gondolas for hire right outside the hotel. Nicely decorated rooms. Breakfast is good. Hotel has veranda facing Canal Grande where you can relax viewing life on the canal.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
