Bed and Breakfast Venezia is located in the most verdant discrict of Venice, an island of unspoiled serenity on the eastern shore of the city's fabled lagoon. Its most delight feature, however, may be the dreamlike vision of ancient Venice shimmering across the lagoon, especially as the sun sets behind the tower of San Marco and the great dome of Santa Maria della Salute.

Well, what can I say? Stayed here not just once or twice, but next March will be my fifth occasion to stay in this gorgeous B&B. It does help, however, if you can converse a little with the family in Italian, as only Roberto is able to speak English quite well. The B&B is so clean and comfortable that it appeals to everybody who stays there for however long a time. What good value for money this place is!!

You should however, allow about an hour to get from the bus station at Piazzale Roma to arrive here. I recommend the #1 waterbus, as it is easier to cope with suitcases on this, as there are no steps to be concerned about.

Great restaurants about. I recommend La Grotta just off the Piazza San Marco for pizza, but there are an infinite number of great places to eat.

We spent three weeks in Europe, in four different cities and the B&B Venezia was, by far the best place we stayed. It was spacious, clean, safe, charming and quiet. While it was on the island of St. Elena, it was only an easy 20 minute walk to St. Marcos Plaza. Our host, Roberto, and his family did everything possible to make our stay great, and he was successful. The café below our room was a great place to relax before and after our day of touring Venice. The price was very reasonable, plus you had access to the kitchen if you wanted to put a few things in the refrigerator, or open a bottle of wine. There were a few restaurants on the island that we tried, which were all pretty good. We most enjoyed our afternoon Cappuccino at the café adjacent to the B&B.

Thanks Roberto for a great job of making feel at home in Venice.

We basically found this place by chance, and consider ourselves very lucky. The B&B is located in a quiet residential area, about a 15-20 minute walk into the city center - we loved it! Our room was immaculately clean and very spacious. They also have check-in starting at noon, which was great for us considering we had a relatively early flight in. Best of all, it's very reasonable - a rare find in Venice. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

One word of caution, however: the owners only speak Italian. It made check-in a little difficult (but manageable). I'm not really sure what we would have done if we had any problems with the room.

Our 25th Anniversary visit to Venice was so wonderful! Roberto were the perfect host. The room was beautiful -- the balcony and view of the water took my breath away. I lived on a city by the sea growing up so Venice as a city of the sea was my favorite of all the places we visited in Italy. How wonderful not to have cars!
I have already recommended this wonderful B&B to two of our friends who will be in Italy in the coming year.
A wonderful stay in the warmth of the owner's friendship.
Best,
Mary & Bill

My husband, mum-in-law and I stayed at this B&B for 6 nights over New Year and whilst we found Venice expensive, B&B Venezia was good value for money. The rooms were warm and comfortable with a small but adequate bathroom. Breakfast was available between 8 and 10 each morning and was on a self-service basis. The meat, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice and milk were left in the fridge and the bread, cereals, jams and marmalade were laid out on a unit next to the fridge. There were also pre-packed pastries available. A kettle, teabags, hot chocolate and coffee were also provided.

On one evening we went in search of one of the local restaurants which Roberto, the owner, had recommended but unfortunately it was closed over the holiday period and we could not find the other one. However, we decided to hop onto a vaparetto to go across to Lido (one stop) and found lots of reasonably priced restaurants and bars there. There is also a bar directly opposite the B&B which serves meals, pastries, snacks and drinks at a reasonable price. We didn't see much of Roberto during our stay but we did email him to ask if we could have breakfast earlier on our last morning as we had to leave for the airport at 8.00 a.m. and he emailed us back to confirm this was okay.

The vaparetto stop was about a two minute walk away and there was also a kiosk there which sold tickets. One of couple of occasions we decided to walk up to St Mark's Square rather than take the vaparetto and this took us about 25 minutes at a leisurely stroll. Each journey on the vaparetto costs €7 but if you buy a 3-day ticket that costs €35 and you can use it as many times as you wish.

Can recommend this B&B but would recommend visitors try the restaurants in Lido.

My husband and I stayed here in January 2012 and had the most wonderful time. Roberto is so lovely and is there if you need him (he lives on the 1st floor) but also let's you keep yourself to yourself if that's what you like. Although we saw him in his office (right next to our room) from time to time we didn't converse a lot as we had a whole itinery worked out and as our 3rd time in Venice, we didn't actually need any advice.

We chose the superior room which has a large double bed. The room itself was immaculate. Staying in January, I was worried that I may be cold but the radiators were always on (and adjustable if you get too hot) and there were plenty of spare blankets in the wardrobe. Plenty of hot water and rooms cleaned, toilet roll replenished etc every day. There is also constant access to a roof top square for the smokers among us. We didn't use it as too cold in Winter but I imagine it's lovely in summer, fabulous view.

Breakast is simple but more than enough. Meat, cheese, bread rolls, yoghurts, cereal, cakes, toasts and jams. Plenty of coffee in the pot and the most delicious fruit juice ever!

Staying here is like having your own place in Venice, it's far enough away from the tourist trappings, you really do feel as though you're part of authentic Venetian life, yet only a 20 minute walk to St. Marks Square. (There is also a water bus stop literally a few meters away in a lovely garden setting.) The walk to and from is also VERY safe and so picturesque, you'll be amazed just strolling along by the sea and then reaching the canals, stunning! We often came home very late but never felt in any danger even though it was just the two of us around. Coming home late is not a problem as once Roberto gives you the keys you are able to come and go as you please.

The surrounding area is great to stroll through, cut through and go to Via Garribaldi for authentic shops, cheap supermarkets and bars/cafes. At night, if you don't want to go too far away from the B&B there are 2 great pubs on Via Garribaldi which are open late, ask for a spritz, lovely! It only takes 10 mins to walk back or there is a water bus stop at Arsenale which is at the top of the street. Or, even closer, there is a fab little cheap bar/cafe right outside which closes around 9pm in winter. Don't worry though, the locals are a pleasant crowd, no drunks or hooligans here!

There is a beautiful church, Saint Helena just around the corner from the B&B which has a lovely courtyard and a fascinating written history (in English) with photos. Also just around the corner are beautiful gardens.

I really cannot recommend the B&B Venezia highly enough! It's simply fantastic and really does feel as though you have your own place in Venice. We LOVE IT and would not even consider staying anywhere else.

My first trip to Venice, and while it is a beautiful city, it was PACKED with tourists. Thankfully I was staying at the B&B Venezia. The B&B is away from all of the noise & crowds and really gives you a taste of local Venice life. Roberto even met me at the water taxi after I had lost the address. Great rooftop deck with view, rooms were clean, A/C, breakfast good too. Highly recommend!

First off this is a B & B not a hotel , too many reviewers compare these places with hotels and their facilities which is unfair as they do not offer comparable services. The rooms in this one are not served by a lift so if that presents a problem then do not consider it. Our room was on the top floor but this presented no difficulties to us. The room we had was large , great view of the Lagoon and Park in front. The bathroom is small but modern ,the whole place looked like it had had a recent facelift and is spotless.. The breakfast is laid out in the kitchen to help yourself and is sufficient to get you started. Sheets and towels are changed and bed made daily. We felt like we were at home. It is quiet but you can easily reach St.Marks square quickly. The vaporetto stops almost outside and you could walk it in 20 mins if you fancied the excercise.
Roberto ,the owner is a lovely man, his directions were spot on ,he met us on arrival about 8 in the evening.
Nearby are some shops a Farmacia ,post office ,post box and two restaurants (although we only found PAMPO!) and a little cafe. Pampo is just round the corner, it is basic, but tasty fare and has a little bar , the owner is very friendly and in fact gave us directions to the B & B when we arrived . We then used it on arrival as it was 8.30 and one other night when it was pouring with rain and we didn,t fancy going too far.
The price is very reasonable considering you are so close to the city and as I have said you will feel like you are in your own home

Highly recommend this bed and breakfast. 20 minute walk out of St Marks Square, but one of the most beautiful views in the world (option of taking the water bus, but we preferred to walk) Very hospitable host, and excellent value for money. Rooms are very basic as is breakfast, but if you are looking for clean rooms, helpful and friendly hosts, and a good location, this is it!

We have been visiting Venice every year for many years, and until we discovered B&B Venezia and met Roberto, it was always a headache trying to find a place that was friendly, well located, comfortable, clean, quiet and reasonably priced!
But now we just book our flights and stay with Roberto and his family.
In fact, we just came back from our fourth stay with Roberto, and every time we arrive, we feel at home.
The welcome is warm and genuine, the rooms are impeccable, the mattresses are top quality, the sheets fresh and crisp, the bathrooms a bit on the small side but very adequate and well heated, with good water pressure and very hot water, the breakfast room is sunny and friendly, this year we even had a delicious panettone in addition to the usual pastries, ham or mortadella, cheese, crackers, bread, cold cereals ,a choice of fresh fruit, jams and coffee, juice and teas.
For us the location is a plus as well, a mere 10 minutes walk along the lagoon from San Marco, and this has to be one of the most beautiful walks in the world.
If you do not feel like walking, there is also the vaporetto option with boats running very frequently.
When in San Elena, one feels part of an authentic Venetian way of life, away from the tourists and the crowds, with a beautiful pine forest , local people chatting in the sun, kids playing , dogs and cats sunning themselves.
We would love to keep Roberto's place to ourselves as a secret address, but at the same time we feel that he deserves our public praise for being so good at what he does with grace, modesty and sincerity.
