Bed and Breakfast Venezia is located in the most verdant discrict of Venice, an island of unspoiled serenity on the eastern shore of the city's fabled lagoon. Its most delight feature, however, may be the dreamlike vision of ancient Venice shimmering across the lagoon, especially as the sun sets behind the tower of San Marco and the great dome of Santa Maria della Salute.

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

We were in Venice for 3 nights and could not be happier with the accommodation. We stayed in the Triple Garden room and it had great views to the park and lagoon. The room was beautifully decorated, very spacious and clean. Breakfast was also a great start of the day. The host, Mr Roberto was so thoughtful and kind. He provided us with clear and easy instructions on how to get to his BB with a price list. He also very kindly allowed us to stay in our room after check out time as our flight back time had changed. The property has also a lovely rooftop with beautiful views, great spot for a cuppa of coffee. We were very happy with our stay at BB Venezia and highly suggest it to everyone! Will be definitely coming back.

We were three friends in a triple room, and stayed there for 4 nights. Before arrival, we communicated with Mr. Roberto regarding different questions on our part, and he was always happy and quick to help. Upon arrival, Mr. Roberto greeted us, and gave us a tour of the B&B. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated (including a gorgeous painting by the owner himself), the balcony had a wonderful view of the park in front of the B&B. The St. Elena Station is literally a two min walk from the B&B, and if you fancy a beautiful walk along the promenade all the way to San Marco, you can take a stroll which lasts about 20 mins (highly suggested). The breakfast is tasty and diverse, with not only good Italian coffee and sweet snacks, but also fresh ham and bread to make sandwiches. Mr. Roberto was always approachable and helpful when asked for suggestions (he even included a suggestive booklet of what to do in Venice which we found very thoughtful and kind). The rooms are of course fully equipped with all the amenities and always clean. Overall, our trip to Venice was highlighted by our stay at this lovely B&B. We highly suggest it to everyone and hope to come back!

We stayed here at the recommendation of a friend. So glad we did. We stayed in the Garden Room which was a large space with lovely views over the park and lagoon. The bed was comfy and the shower hot. The breakfast room also had a park view. Breakfast provisions were plentiful. The location was also lovely being in the garden district of S Elena, about a 3km easy walk into St Mark's Square. The host, Roberto, was friendly and helpful. He provided clear and easy suggestions on how to reach his B and B from the airport.

Great place to stay away from the crowded tourist areas and experience Venice with the locals, yet still with easy access to the all the main attractions - only 15 mins walk to San Marco or 2 mins to nearest water bus with a good choice of connections. We stayed in the self catering apartment rather than the b&b. It had everything we needed - two shower rooms, a Venetian style bedroom with king size bed, plenty storage space, and aircon. The living room/kitchen/diner was well equipped and very comfortable with a view of the lagoon and everything was spotless. As it was February we didn’t need the aircon but the big radiators kept the place really warm and cosy. Roberto was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and made sure we were happy and comfortable and had a great stay. Thanks Roberto. Chris and Willie

Stayed here for 7 nights and could not have been happier! The b&b feels so homely and welcoming, with a lovely breakfast to start the day. It is situated in an ideal location, a short walk to the main sights but far enough away to not be crowded with tourists. It's also a great base to catch a bus and explore the other islands; Lido, Torcello, Murano and Burano etc. I thoroughly enjoyed walking back through the park outside the b&b in the evenings, and being able to see the sunset over St Mark's Square. We stayed in the Dreamlike Garden Double room which had a balcony and private bathroom. The room was very clean, spacious and decorated beautifully. Roberto was a wonderful and friendly host, and made the holiday perfect.
