Chose this hotel for its convenience to Cruise port . It was just what we had been looking for. A short distance to walk and easy to find. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Don't be put off by dark carpeting in the hallways which make it look dated. We had a great room with a balcony, the bathroom... More

I have rated this hotel 5 star based on its value for money. It is in essence a 2/3 star hotel but it has a perfect location to explore Venice from and the staff are so welcoming. The room was basic had good air con (anyone complaining about mosquitos, surely that's your responsibility?) and a nice little balcony to have... More

We walked from the station to the hotel without any difficulty. The outside of the hotel is quite obscure and filthy, but as you enter, you are transformed to a time 100 years back with red carpets and furniture. We were booked in by DAVI and given our room keys. What a shock: the rooms sere on the third floor... More

Great value hotel for getting to Venice by bus, less than a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Free breakfast with excellent orange juice. Free wifi in our room. If you arrive at night you may miss the street to turn that it is on so mark you map well.

Location is good. The room we had was a queen with a single bed for my daughter it was small. A little tight for 3 people. Would of hoped we had something a little but more roomier for 3 people. It was nicely decorated. Bathroom was nice. We were there for one night. So we checked out late cause early... More

The room was nicely decorated and furnished. The air conditioning was so good, that we had to turn it down a bit. There is a garden in the hotel, where you can sit around and have a drink. Breakfast is decent, although nothing special. The wifi is included, but not great quality. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from... More

Very good location, so close to train station, bus station, and many restaurants! Staff, wifi, and breakfast served their purpose. Bed, room, and bathroom were pretty dated and not very spacious or comfortable. Overall happy but not the best of five hotels we stayed in throughout Europe.

We stayed there with our family (2 adults and a baby) and it was well worth our money. Pros: air conditioned, Comfy bed and pillows, mosquito repellant in rooms, fresh baked croissants for breakfast, super close to the train and water taxis. Con: No fridge in the room. However, the staff is accommodating and will hold milk in their fridge.... More

Awesome staff and location. Right near the train station and located on the main island. All of Venice proper is within a 15-20 minute walk. Take at least one day to get completely lost and explore the best sights and food Italy has to offer.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
