Stayed here while travelling Europe with friends. It's clean, staff are friendly and in a great convenient location! Although it only has 2 stars, it is nicer than some 3 start places I have previously stayed in.

Stayed here for 1 night after a cruise. Was ideal for our purposes, which was a bed for the night, breakfast and a good shower so we could spend 2 days sightseeing. its tucked up a small side street, so nice and quiet. Doesnt look much from the outside, but inside it was great. Walked here from Piazzale Roma, over... More

The location of the hotel is great, but the quality not so much. Our room looked nothing like the website. The door hit the bed as it opened and the walls bare. The air conditioning broke during the night. The next morning when we informed the staff, we had to twist an arm to get a new room. The new... More

The room was spacious and clean, and espresso and pastry arrived each morning at 9 am which was unexpected. A great location in Venice, close to a vaporetto stop. However, if you book this hotel via bookings.com be aware that they put through an authorization on your credit card before you arrive. We were travelling in a group and all... More

On first impressions we were adequately satisfied with our lodgings at the Villa Rosa; it is a short walk from the train station as well as a Vaporetto stop. The main sites around Piazza di San Marco can also be walked within about 30 minutes (beautiful walk down narrow calles). The room was basic but clean with a nice shower,... More

Dear Mr. Matthew, I'm sorry for your review. First of all I want to point out that Hotel is " Visited" by mosquitos and not by bugs, it's all a different matter. Unfortunately Venice during summer is invaded by mosquitos but it's not true that Hotel doesn't care about this problem in , infact every room is provided with mosquito... More

Good room size. The room is newly renovated and the design is good. The outlook of the hotel is no good but the room inside is excellent. I can get a 10% discount in case to book the hotel by its website. No surprise for the breakfast but still acceptable. Venice is full of tourist price So i think its... More

We really fell in love with this hotel! Its a bit away from the crowded streets of central Venice and thats something we learned to appreciate. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and we must say all the staff were just as friendly. Rooms are so stylish and well furnished, so cant believe this place is just a 2-star.... More

We stayed in this hotel two nights before the cruise. It is very close to the train station, but pretty far from both ports, To start with, the map of the hotel is very outdated, there is a new pedestrian bridge across the canal if you come to Piazzale Roma, but the hotel did not bother to update the directions.... The is a child friendly hotel. Very clean bedroom and bathroom - the housekeepers do a good job. There is a wide selection at breakfast. Safe in bedroom and hairdryer in bathroom. You can print your flight boarding pass at reception. It would have been nice if there was a fridge in the room. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 1 night before embarking on a boat cruise. On arrival the reception took good care of us. He answered all our questions and helped with some directions. The room was completely revamped and new. It is highly recommended for tourists.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
