This small boutique hotel in Venice was an absolute gem. Located in a nice quiet street but very close to main shopping & restaurants. The hotel was beautifully decorated, had all the modern conveniences you require and was very clean. Breakfast is served in your room & was a fantastic start to the day. The owners Ivan & Massimiliano were... More

Fantastic small hotel. We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of a tour across the North of Italy in August 2015. We easily found the hotel from the airport using the water taxi and then a short walk. The Ca d'oro water bus stop is directly across from the street the hotel is on. The Ca' Le Vele... More

Fantastic hotel for the price. Quiet but central location. Really beautiful decor ( we were upgraded because a better room was free). Spotlessly clean and the option of breakfast in bed for 5E a head. Sorry to be only staying one night. Stay here!

For the price, this hotel was wonderful! It's clean, very quite and vintage. The breakfast was always served on our bedroom and the staff was always available to help us with some tips and suggestions about the city and restaurants. For a couple it's a very romantic hotel with view to the canal.

I stayed here in July with my partner for 2 nights. Hotel staff are friendly, helped direct us to places we wanted to visit. Our room was very nice and clean. Bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was brought to us in the morning at a time we requested and was beautifully presented. The hotel in on a side street... More

Very kind reception. One of the receptionists (I'm sorry I forgot your name!) gave us advice about the beautiful places in Venice that aren't (yet) flooded with tourists. Wonderful room located in a quiet area but at walking distance of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Ivan & Max are great hosts and their place is in an excellent location within 2 mins walk from the Ca D'Oro water bus stop. The room was large, clean, has a small fridge and very comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our room with fresh juice & coffee. Most definitely will stay there again in our next visit.

My family and I spent two nights in this hotel and had a great experience. It is centrally located - right off the Ca D'Oro vaporetto stop - which made it very convenient to walk around. We walked to St. Mark's Square in 15 minutes, to the Rialto Bridge in 10 minutes, and to the Fondamente Nove vaparetto stop, where... More

We had a very nice stay at this inn back in September 2014. The room was clean, it was very spacious and we loved the style. The bed was a bit firm but okay. The view out our windows was exactly what we had in mind for Venice. Breakfast was served in our room and was very nice. With breakfast... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
