You can't beat the location of this hotel, close to all the biggest attractions but still set in a relatively quiet and peaceful area. The staff needs to buzz you in to the building so we felt very secure. We had the family room on...More
Hotel Ca' del Campo took excellent care of us. Our room was easily changed to two twins when we asked, the desk staff were multilingual and professional, and everything was gleaming, clean, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed our breakfast in the lovely dining area. We...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

I agree with the answer above... HOWEVER... the last two times we were in Venice.... 2015 and 2017.....we stayed at Dona Palace and Ca Del Campo... Each time we had early flights home so we splurged and spent about 120E for a water taxi right to the airport... It was a spectacular ride in the early morning hours that we still talk about! What an unbelievable experience! You will never regret it! AND they pick you up right at the hotel! ASK them at the desk....
