The staff couldn't be friendlier and the location was perfect but the room was tiny, only just able to walk around the bed. In order to get in and out of the shower you had to stand in a particular spot or the door wouldn't close. Having said all that it was good value.

Felt like we were sleeping in a cardboard box, heard every noise including some Americans next door snoring loudly and people above us having night terrors! As well as next doors shower that felt like the water was coming through the wall....the fire doors were banging and the machine was making a noise that opens the doors with the credit...

Not the easiest place to find. When we got to Venice my friends and I attempted to use the gps on our cellphone to map our way to the hotel. It ended up taking us to two different locations, both which were not the proper place. We asked many people to assist us along the way and after a long...

The hotel's front desk staff are friendly and its location excellent. But the positives stopped there. The windows of Room no 3, which I stayed in, were not double glazed, and with just a small heater in the room, we had to endure 3 nights of freezing temperatures.

I have been writing reviews on trip advisor for a few years now and this is the first bad review I have written. My husband (who was born in Italy), and I traveled to Rome, Florence, Venice this past trip and the only hotel I had a problem with was Hotel San Maurizio. We arrived exactly at check in time...

As said in the title that this Accom is a short walk to piazza San Marco, The Tourist Heart of Venice and very close to Sant Angelo water Bus...

Service and people were very professional and kind. Thank you very much for the good welcoming, we felt fine. Our room was a bit noisy due to wooden floors and noisy people staying into the room above ours. A bit expensive.

Stayed at this place for 2 nights as part of a backpacking trip as hostels were not much cheaper. The room that we got had a double bed, single bed, a closet and a desk. There was no air conditioning, however there was a ceiling fan which offered a little relief from the sizzling July sun. There was also a...

I was a little sceptical after reading other reviews but we had to agree on most points. The location is fantastic, that's probably it's only plus. The directions to get you there are very exact so you shouldn't have a problem finding it. Walking distance to all major sight seeing attractions. Staff were helpful and friendly. The air con is...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
