Well only just back from a short break to Venice and we had an amazing time, a beautiful city. My wife and I found this little hotel online and was just what we wanted, it is in a great position, very close to St Marks square, so it was very easy to get to most of the main attractions, we... More

We only stayed for 1 night but could have stayed a week! Rooms are clean and modern, the staff were very nice and helpful. Plenty of choices of restaurants nearby for breakfast, especially turning left out the front door and the the place on the next Right corner, not the one on the left where you can be ignored for... Fabulous holiday Hotel was superb and the location was just right. The staff were very friendly and provided all we requested. Breakfast was very adequate and there was more than enough to eat. We had a room with a balcony which proved lovely to sit out and relax in the evening sun ... No doubt in the summer months it's... More

The location is perfect. The staff is friendly and our room was spacious and clean. But everything was at the very minimal possible level to keep the place at 3 stars. Even to have breakfast if it is not included in your rate you have to negotiate in advance with reception desk.

Stayed here for 3 nights in March. Hotel is in a fab location! You are right by St Marks square and lovely restaurants and bars. Our room was lovely and clean. Slept so well the whole time we were there. Staff are very friendly and the maids work so hard! Our room was cleaned every day. I would highly recommened... More

It is next to stop S. Zaccaria. You step off vaporetto and go straight, the first narrow street in front is Calle delle Rasse, and the hotel is a few metres away on the left. St Marco is 3-5 minutes walk, and delle Rasse is a busy street. But it is perfectly quiet as the windows face the inner yard.... More

Short trip to Venice with my sister in July 2016. I wanted to stay in a hotel that you didn't had to walk too far from the vaparetto . The Antigo Travatore hotel is near the San Zaccharia Vaparetto stop. Which mean you do not have to drag your bag to far thru the street of Venice .Staff was extremely... More

My fiancé and I stayed at Hotel Antigo Trovatore for one night this July and would highly recommend it! It is just seconds from the water taxi/water bus stop and is only a few steps away from St. Marks Square and the main hub of Venice. The air conditioning was our savior, the staff were very welcoming, it had free... More

The hotel was conveniently located to the vaporetto stop at S. Zaccaria. Our air-conditioned room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable and had the largest shower of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Italy. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I only wish we had a breakfast... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in July as solo traveller so was thankful for a clean, quiet room with AC to escape the crowds. Easy walking distance from San Zaccharia Vaparetto stop with max of one bridge to cross depending on which pontoon you dock on. Despite being so close to the action it was lovely and quiet with... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
