San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We greatly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this charming hotel at the heart of the Sestiere San Marco, around 300m from the Rialto vaporetto stop. It's very close to the Teatro La Fenice, so if you're an opera buff, this is the right place for you! The staff are friendly and helpfu

The three reasons you should AVOID this hotel is:
1.) If you want a restful night sleep, this is not your hotel. Our room was situated near an alley and voices carried into our room all that day/night.

2.) The breakfast- I asked for 1 pastry for my husband and the server threw

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for replying again of our feedback. We are sorry to read about your dissatisfaction. For openness’s reasons we provide to loyally propose again the contents of our reply that we sent you via mail. We are sorry that some dishes were finishes, we know that sometimes, if the guests step into the breakfast room near the closing time we cannot guarantee to make you find all the food available, in fact the server, as we already told you, had simply finished the dish you wanted: he had no reason to refuse unjustifiably your request. Reading your review we deduct that our conjectures about the noises problem was right: in fact they were coming from down the street, outside the hotel. The noises wasn’t from outdoor as you told us via private mail claiming that our wall were made of paper. We reaffirm that Venetian’s building are made of full bricks which protect from noise pollution in case of adjacent rooms, but even this possibility doesn’t concern you because your accomodation did not have close rooms. But since we’re aware about the strong points and the Achilles’heels of our building, including any noise problems, if possible we always provide to satisfy our guest’s expectations, in fact we always suggest, in case of dissatisfaction to inform our receptionists, we can guarantee that we we’d provided to give you an upgraded ( with canal view) noise free high floor’s room: an accommodation maybe more suitable of your needs. In any event We don’t want to call into any questions about your legitimate and justified choice to check out in advance because if the first impression is not satisfying it’s a guest’s right to complain to the reception. According to our policy we consider the guest’s feedback very important and precious cause they give us the chance to improve ourselves and to immediately to take action in case of dissatisfaction and also because they give us the opportunity to clarify some possible misunderstanding caused from unclear circumstances to keep a good customer service before, during and after the guest’s stay. Hoping to given you all the information we send you best regards The Management

Is there a lift or elevator?
Best way to get from the train station. We are coming from Rome
How far away is the airport from here?
Hi, depends from which airport you arrive! I landed at Treviso, then got shuttle bus ( 1 hour) to Piazzale Roma, and then vaporetto to Mercurio.
