Spent four very enjoyable nights at this very friendly hotel.
From reception staff to lady who set out breakfast this hotel did their best to make guests feel at home. Nice tables at front of hotel gives a wonderful view of the lagoon.
We booked through Hotels.com and clearly got the crappiest room available. Our front desk person was impatient and rude. The room was frightening. One night was one night too many! Note to visitors - check out your room before handing over your money.
We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. The location of the hotel is wonderful. The rooms on first view are excellent. In one room the toilet was choked up with a block and sat on a lean, the shower screen did not work and water...More
We had 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights. The hotel is very convenient to the city center and the water ferry stop. It was about a 10-15 walk to the main square and the ferry stop was only 2 bridges away (a 5 minute walk)....More
Superbly located hotel which is bit dated but nonetheless comfortable with friendly staff. We were upgraded to junior suite with great canal side view. Breakfast was ok with some fresh fruit on one of the days. All in all a great value hotel.

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

Dear Mrs. Trinch,
from the Airport Marco Polo you can take a Water Taxi direct to our Hotel jetty, the taxi can take up to 8 people plus luggage; the cost for 6 people and luggage should be 120.00/130.00 Euro and the ride will take only 30 minutes.
You can also reserve it in advance from the Venezia Taxi website
In alternative there is the public Shuttle Boat ALILAGUNA Blue Line to Arsenale, it cost 15.00 Euro per person and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
If you send us a direct email we can provide you with detailed instructions on a pdf file.
Looking forward to the pleasure of hearing further from you, we remain,
with best regards,
