We stayed at Locanda Ca' Amadi for 2 nights for our trip to Italy at our first year marriage anniversary. The location was excellent, easy reach from the train station, few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge. Very centrally located lovely place to stay which makes you feel like in a movie sceen. The room was very clean and tidy.... More

This is one of the best little hotels I have ever stayed at. Not far from the grand canal, this hotel is steeped in history and character. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make our short stay in Venice a truly amazing one, From arranging our transfer to and from the hotel to organising a restaurant for... More

Visiting Venice for 3 nights, we found Ca' Amadi very nice. It was a little hard to find, some back alleys, but once found - was kind of nice. A very quiet, open courtyard is the entry with stairs up to the lobby/breakfast area.. Only a few rooms in the entire building - so really quiet. The breakfast was nice,... More

We stayed here for 1 night in Venice on July 2nd. It is a wonderful hotel that is situated in a really great and central location. The bedrooms are really big and beautifully decorated and our bathroom had recently been re-done so it was very modern and new. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and helpful, and had... This hotel was an amazing surprise to us! Our room was a stunning suite with canal view and at a very good price! (In my opinion it was not noisy), the room was very spacious, decorated in a Venetian/18th century Versailles style, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff was wonderful!!! They watched our bags since we stayed in Venice after checking... More

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. We have been to Venice several times in nice hotels. This hotel had excellent Tripadvisor ratings but did not measure up to our expectations. Our disappointment started with attempting to find the hotel and the entry ways neccessary to navigate there. Through hallways with all kinds of garbage along the way. Finally though... More

This hotel is perfectly situated, few minutes walk from rialto and 10 min to st marko 's. The manager was super nice and friendly and suggested us where to go and what to visit and even offered us to choose the room we liked most for our stay. Rooms are very spacious, decorated in real venetian style, very clean and... More

We are just back from a 3 night stay at the Ca' Amadi and had a wonderful time. Our room was beautiful with original details and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, good shower and a very central location made this a great place to stay. Add in the friendly staff and good breakfasts with delicious coffee we cannot recommend this place... More

This hotel was a fantastic stay. Like anything in Venice, hard to find if you don't know where to go. But there are a few signs to help you. Staff was wonderful and courteous. They watched our bags since we arrived early while we explored the city and had them in the room when we arrived. Great little breakfast available... More

We arrived at Marco Polo airport & the hotel advised us to get the waterbus Ailaguna orange line to Rialto. It's only 5 minutes walk from the stop & it costs 15€ each way per person We arrived late but was given a code to get in & our room keys were in an envelope on the desk. Our room... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
