OK, first off this place is really hard to find. I have included a couple of pictures of the outside of the building but it's not well marked at all. Venice is tough with small alleys and unmarked roadways but this place is exceptionally tough. My suggestion would be to look for the restaurant sign that I've attached in a... More

Really excellent self-catering accommodation for our stay in Venice. Placed almost half-way between Rialto and St Marks. Our apartment looked out onto the Campo Sant Angelo square which was both quiet and beautiful. The apartment was large (almost palatial) and very comfortable and we couldn't fault it. Best of all was the exceptional service we got from Paolo, the owner/manager.... More

I've stayed here several times and always had excellent service from Paolo and Lamberto - they even take me and my suitcase to the Alilaguna stopping place. The location is close to the historic centre, and there's a beautiful view onto campo Sant'Angelo. AC and wi-fi are perfect. What I really like are the crisp, clean linens and fragrant bathrobe.

Never before had this good time and accomodation in Venice (been there 5-6 times over last 15 years). Manager met us at the Vaporetto station! 5 minutes walk from Vaporetto and to San Marco. Excellent location, and excellent service.

This apartment is clean and modern. A double bed plus a pull out sofa bed to sleep two. Everything supplied that you would need.. including an all important corkscrew. Washing machine and dishwasher, gas hob, oven, pots and pans etc. This is an ideal location to see everything. 2 supermarkets within a 5 minute walk plus endless restaurants and bars.... More

The rating of "Excellent" for this apartment was because it suited our needs perfectly. There is no lift, so others may not rate it as highly, but we were delighted with it. Paolo was at the apartments when we arrived, although we saw little of him after that. We didn't really need him for anything because the information he gave... More

We were really impressed - the suite (#3) was spacious, commodious, very clean and it is in a great location close to everything but still suitably away from the worst of the tourist hoard (and that is invaluable in Venice). Everything we needed was there, and more. The view from our balcony was very attractive. It lacks nothing (well, except... More

Top Three things: Location. Easy to get to from a vaporetto, close to Rialto and St. Marks square, great Campo Updated room. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff. Poalo was very helpful with check in and getting us situated. Communicated quickly via email prior to the trip and made himself available during our stay. Improvement: Wasn't an issue for... More

We stayed here with our 3 children (12/10/8yo) and it was a Fantastico location and apartment for our families needs. Location amazing and walking distance to everything. Great supermarket very close by to stock up on breakfast supplies and some much needed vegetables having been away from home for 2 weeks. Kids all slept well in lounge room area on... More

Superb location, large fully equipped and attractive comfortable rooms plus beautiful views of a reasonably quiet neighborhood make this a wonderful choice. Personal services of Paulo and his team ensure that all of our needs were anticipated and met. Our stay was an ideal one in every way!

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
