This apartment is in a fantastic location in Venice, a short walk to Saint Mark's Square, close to the Rialto Bridge. Lovely apartment with high ceilings that give you a great sense of space. It is roomy for a family of 4 - the sofa bed for the 2 kids was comfortable. It was a nice warm, clean apartment with...

It is a nice, comfortable and quite spacious apartment, located just a couple of blocks from the crowded streets but close enough to make it feel safe and quiet. Close to a grocery store, restaurants and vaporetto stops (make sure you plan accordingly, we used Sant Angelo and Accademia). Staff was very friendly and overall stay was a very good...

This is a great place to stay in Venice. The room we had was large, clean and very private. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The free Wi-Fi was reliable and fast. There is a lift in the building, which makes it very convenient, as most Venice hotels don't have lifts. Breakfast is provided and was very good....

We had a good stay at the Ca Sant' Angelo. It was in a convenient location, close to all the major attractions and with amenities close by, though the Piazza Sant' Angelo itself is situated in a quiet sector of San Marco. The room we had was large and had all amenities including a kitchen. There was also a washing...

We have stayed in a small hotel near Campo Sant'Angelo many times. Our visits have always been four or fewer nights. This trip we planned to stay in Venezia for six nights and decided to opt for an apartment, in San Marco, since we know the area well. Ca' Sant'Angelo turned out to be a wonderful place to settle in...

OK, first off this place is really hard to find. I have included a couple of pictures of the outside of the building but it's not well marked at all. Venice is tough with small alleys and unmarked roadways but this place is exceptionally tough. My suggestion would be to look for the restaurant sign that I've attached in a...

Really excellent self-catering accommodation for our stay in Venice. Placed almost half-way between Rialto and St Marks. Our apartment looked out onto the Campo Sant Angelo square which was both quiet and beautiful. The apartment was large (almost palatial) and very comfortable and we couldn't fault it. Best of all was the exceptional service we got from Paolo, the owner/manager....

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
