Getting here from Venice train station was an easy 23min ride on the Vaporatte. Get ticket from the Vaporatte station (Ferrovia) just outside the train station, get off at Redentore station around 23min later. Turn right upon leaving Redentore station and walk a few minutes. Upon seeing a bridge, turn left and you are there. Check in was quick. Lift... More

Giudecca is a quick water bus ride from the hustle and bustle of Venice. My family and I stayed here for three nights and just loved the space and tranquility of our apartment. There are also some very nice and good places to eat on the island. Jessica was extremely helpful. If you're traveling to Venice, this is the place... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with 2 small children before going on a cruise. The hotel is in wonderful location away from main areas of streets so it is quiet. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has many choices from cereals, yogurts, pastries, cheeses, breads, and of course the best coffee. Only complaints are tiny... More

I definitely recommend staying here if staying on Giudecca is an option for you. We really didn't mind taking the vaporetto across to San Marco and Zattere. I definitely recommend getting a pass though; individual rides are too expensive. The apartment we stayed in was modern, clean, and convenient. The staff is ultra helpful, but be advised they are only... More

I booked this hotel based on its high rating and it lived up to its sterling reputation, 1. Location is close enough to the action and far away for the peace. 2. Thoughtful gestures like a snack tray on arrival. 3. Clean rooms and extremely positive feel to the property. 4. Laundry, kitchenette and definitely a home away from home.... More

We stayed at the Redentore for three nights and loved everything about it. Once we figured out the vaporato line that serves Giudecca island (which seems to run about every 15 minutes during the day), it was very easy to get to Redentore from the Grand Canal, St. Marks Square, or other parts of Venice. Our room (# 208) had... More

These are apartments are on the island of Giudecca - across the Grand Canal from San Marco, etc. We enjoyed the quiet and peace of the apartment AND the island. The accommodations were roomy, updated and immaculate. The benefit of being able to have breakfast (etc.) in the apartment was greatly appreciated and not being limited to 1 (hotel) room... More

We chose these apartments after reading the lovely reviews left by others & we were not disappointed. We spent 5 very pleasant nights here. The staff were so helpful & the apartment was large & comfortable. It was in a quiet position easily reached by the People Mover from the Port & then the 2 or 4.1 Vaporetto (getting off... More

We stayed here in a 2 bedroom apartment with another couple. Both bedrooms were spacious and had their own full bathroom. There was also a nice kitchen and dining area, as well as a small living room. The decoration is lovely and had everything you need (apart from an iron). Beautiful views across the water to the main land. Staff... More

We are a group of 6. The 2 bedroom suite is perfect for us. - Convenient location. 2 min walk to ferry stop. 10 min ferry ride to San Marco. Max 10 min wait. We all enjoyed the ferry rides. Don't mind it at all. - Quiet area but there are 2 supermarkets within 5 min walk. Made our own... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
