This Hotel was more than we expected. The building is over 500 years old and kept in such great shape. The front desk staff are so eager to help you and guide you to having the best Venetian experience possible. They gave us some great ideas and tips. The breakfast was more continental style, but still satisfying.

We visited Venice for a Special Birthday celebration for my wife, we came across the Hotel more by good fortune than good planning. What a gem it turned out to be, we had a room on the side of the hotel overlooking the canal with fantastic acoustics when the gondoliers were in full voice. The staff on reception were exceptionally...

We stayed here for 1 night in July 2016, and the room was great value for money - it is a 1 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, and 5-7 mins to St Marks Square. We could not have imagined to get such a great place, and in such a handy location on our budget. The hotel is quite small...

We were very pleased with Palazzo Bembo. My husband, two teenaged sons and I stayed 3 nights and found the location to be ideal. We were right on the Grand Canal just a short walk from St Marco Square and near the Rialto Bridge. The room itself was comfortable and had 4 single beds which worked well for us. The...

We had a great stay and Matteo and the staff could not do enough for us, very helpful. Breakfasts were special and again we were really looked after and made very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We particularly enjoyed an early morning walk without the crowds before a leisurely breakfast.

Great place - lovely to lean out of the breakfast room window and watch the daily goings on of the Grand Canal. Very small hotel (6 rooms), staff very friendly and helpful - although through no fault of their own could be a bit close for comfort as the reception desk is right outside one of the rooms. It was...

OK.... If location means anything to you read on. But first... the staff was super nice and helpful. Clean hotel, with nice decor. Great breakfasts. AND even had a bath tub! ( instead of just a shower ). Could not be happier about the location.... so exciting; right on the Grand Canal, beside the famous Rialto Bridge! Also very close...

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a very enjoyable time. It was fortunate that I had read in some reviews before arriving that the entrance can be a bit tricky to find as it is shared with a local art gallery. The location is very convenient, right near the Rialto bridge and easy walking distance to most attractions...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
