We stayed here for 4 nights and had a very enjoyable time. It was fortunate that I had read in some reviews before arriving that the entrance can be a bit tricky to find as it is shared with a local art gallery. The location is very convenient, right near the Rialto bridge and easy walking distance to most attractions... More

This lovely hotel is located in a central part of the canal. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was included and tasty fresh food provided. Our room was spacious and very clean, and excellent wifi included. "Bembo" is a wonderful place to stay when you visit Venice!

just perfect, from every point of view. our room was lovely, so comfortable and tipically venician. the view was unforgettable on the canals.. the staff is amazing, welcoming and so helpful. We had problems with our train tickets and they solved it all. the vaporetto stop is next door to the entrance! it was our first time in Venice and... More

Small hotel, very quiet, location is very nice, near the nice rialto bridge, next to the water bus station. Quality of breakfast is average. The room quality and services also avarage. They have Internet access in the rooms. Staff are very good and helpful.

Expected the whole building to be hotel based on photos. Very deceptive. Hard to find as plaque on building small and covered by advertisements for exhibit. The building entrance was completely dark and we had to ask the reception to come escort us. (Not handicap accessible if you need). The first 2 floors appear abandoned and under construction. Scaffolding everywhere.... More

My mother and I visited Venice the second week of Seprtember, 2015, celebrating our 50th and 85th Birthdays. She has a new hip, and walks with a cane with poor balance so I was concerned about our ability to find a B+B which would accommodate her limited mobility needs. The Palazzo Bembo is literally only steps away from the Rialto... More

This hotel is on the 3rd floor of an original house on the Grand Canal. There are only 6 rooms and only 1 has the canal view. The mattress was firm and good to sleep on. There was no curtain on the shower so the water splashes around. I would recommend this place for its location, right by Rialto bridge... More

When we first walked into the building, we were a bit worried, as it did not look like a hotel at all. But once we took the cute little antique elevator to level 3, we met with the lovely gentleman at the reception and he warmly welcomed us. He gave us the map of Venice and recommended a few places... I went with a friend to Venice for a few days in July and booked the Palazzo Bembo on the basis that its in an original old Venetian building and was in a perfect position very near the Rialto Bridge. Vaporetti stops are adjacent too, which is brilliant when you are foot sore and wanting an easier way back to... More

Room was brilliantly placed. The room are much larger than the rest of Venice, and have better infrastructure than you normally get in the crumbling Venetian hotel rooms. Friendly staff, and quiet when not facing onto the water (and great view when you do). Definitely recommended.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
