I spent ages looking for a lovely small hotel to celebrate my husbands birthday. Cima Rosa fitted the bill perfectly in every respect. It's in a great location away from the tourist masses and in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. It was so easy to get to as well - we caught the boat there from the airport and the ferry...

We got back last week from a wonderful 3 night stay my husband had organised for our anniversary and my birthday. It was such a special place to stay, made even more so by the lovely Brittany and her great team who were all so accomodating. We had one of the rear bedrooms and whilst it wasn't on the Grand...

We stayed at CimaRosa for three nights - a wonderful base to explore the city. A great position on the Grand Canal, but in a less touristy district. Our room was beautifully styled - a clever blend of old and new, with sweeping views of the Grand Canal. Brittany is a wonderful host and both she and Valentina, who was...

My wife and I have just returned from Venice. After some careful research, she chose Cima Rosa as our destination, B&B suits us much better than a hotel and the marketing looked promising. We cannot stress how fortunate our choice was, it's always a slight gamble and one often arrives with slight trepidation but having been delivered almost to the...

We stayed here in Feb for 4 nights having sought out a boutique hotel away from the more touristy areas of Venice. Britney our contact was there to great us on our arrival that evening. Communication with my Partner (it was a birthday treat for me) had been excellent leading up of our arrival I understand. The hotel (bed and...

Really lived up to the billing. Excellent well prices B&B. Fresh and tasty breakfast and a team who could not be more helpful. The area also has excellent food options and is 15 mins from everywhere and there is a taxi rank close by for non walkers. enjoy!

Perfectly nice place, perfectly OK. But let's get real here - this is not a 5* place to stay, so I cannot begin to fathom the rapturous applause exhibited here. I imagine it is probably because of the dainty, 'personal' air of being that surrounds the place. Breakfast next to other guests is awkward, the food forgettable and repetitive. Everything...

This was our second stay at Cima Rosa. We had a lovely warm welcome from Valentina in reception and stayed in a beautiful suite on the Grand Canal. Valentina is a fantastic host and she makes everyone welcome and has lots of good ideas for places to visit and where to eat. The hotel is situated near San Stae vaporetto...

We had stayed at Cima Rosa for two nights for a long weekend. Our host Brittany was extremely warm and welcoming, and gave us some great tips. The hotel is beautiful and charming and has really lovely interiors, our room was great however the the walls are like paper... we were woken up each morning by the couple upstairs and...

My wife surprised me with a wonderful weekend in Venice and chose the excellent Cima Rosa as our base. So easy to get to via Alilaguna (San Stae is about 200m away) and brilliant for exploring all parts of the islands. You can walk to almost anywhere inside 30-40 mins. Valentina is lovely and could not be more helpful, suggesting...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
