This great little Guest House was a welcome retreat from the summer tourists in Venice. Hidden away in a quiet neighborhood but so conveniently close to the water taxi stop , the Cima Rose is charming, the host very lovely and accommodating . Breakfast was great. I think if we had wound up in the San Marcos area where there... More

This venue was fantastic. Make sure you know where you are going first as it was a little difficult to locate. This is not a good start if you have a lot of luggage! Our arrival was warm & inviting with the hosts showing first class customer service. The room was homely and comfortable, right on the Grand Canal bringing... More

All I can say is wow! We just stayed here and had a wonderful time. The staff is soooo friendly, helpful, accommodating, and just all great. And the free breakfast each morning is my favorite meal in Venice too. Highly recommend. Charming!

This is my second time to Venice and Cima Rosa. There is no more perfect place to stay in Italy. I was so happy to see the additions and common area that they added from the last time I was there. Brittany was born in the States, so do not worry about anything if you're a first time traveler to... More

Perfect position to escape the craziness of the tourist areas, yet close enough to access them easily. The vaporetto stop is a 2 minute walk away! Which makes it very convenient. Our room overlooking the Grand Canal was classy and spacious with fantastic views. Our room was clean, peaceful and relaxing, with air conditioning to escape the Venetian humidity. The... More

The most gorgeous palazzo in a superb location sitting on the Grand Canal. The two owners are passionate about Venice and happy to share their knowledge and advice about where to go in Venice. Stayed in one of three suites overlooking the Canal. The rooms are lovingly renovated and the three suites share a fully equipped kitchen which is stocked... More

This B&B is lovely, good size rooms and a great living room for when your feet are complaining! The breakfast is fab - fresh fruit, croissants, great coffee, just as we like it. The staff are really friendly and helpful and they recommend great little restaurants. We didn't have a view over the canal but the living room does so... More

This is a small b&b and that is part of the charm. Just a few rooms (so book early). Ours had two windows overlooking the grand canal. I know you probably are not supposed to sit in the windows but it seemed to be irresistible! The room is not huge but laid out well. We had the room with the... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
