This charming hotel tucked into a lovely quiet corner is just a short walk from all the action! Exceptionally quiet and comfortable for sleeping. This is a family run hotel and is very luxurious. There is a lovely library and outdoor courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine or the excellent breakfast of meat, fruits, eggs and cappuccino with fresh... More

It was our first time in Venice. We left our car on Piazzale di Roma and walked all the way to San Marco. Without the special skill of "positioning in Venice" it was quite a challenge. It was evening and we have got tired and a bit pissed off. Though when we have got to the hotel it was a... More

As Spring is approaching, I started thinking about going back to my favorite city in the world - Venezia. I go there at least once a year and for the past five years I've been staying at one of the most delightful small/tiny hotels in the world - Novecento. The location is brilliant, enough off the beaten track to feel... More

The hotel is very well located and easy to find. The room was big and very clean. The staff is one of a kind with an excelent service. The breakfast is already included and is delicious. I really recommend it.

We stayed there in early February when it was quite cold, and we had a very nice and warm room with character to it (old bed and furniture). The breakfast included was also good, and the hotel has a cosy breakfast/lounge area with an outside patio which is very nice, even in cold February. We came there with water taxi,... More

Arrive by water taxi and a short walk down a Venetian alley leads you to this quiet, unassuming but first class hotel. The building is narrow but tall, the top floor room we had faced the pleasant street and terracotta rooflines. Not sure if there was a lift, it would have to be pretty small if there was one. On... The hotel was small but really cozy. It had a great location, really close to all the major attraction in Venice. Breakfast was always fresh and delicious. All the staff was really friendly and helpful with direction to good restaurants. I would definitely recommend Novecento to anyone. Hope to be back soon.

We arrived in a wonderful water taxi and had a very short walk to the hotel. Greeted by lovely friendly staff, taken to our room which was on the top floor. Small but perfectly formed and all we could have wished for. Breakfast delicious. Location was excellent, a short walk to main attractions. We explored and found some fantastic "local"... More

Novecento Boutique Hotel is a small, cozy, quintessential European accommodation. It is decorated beautifully, with antiques and artwork throughout. Upon arrival, we were escorted to the small courtyard/ patio, where we were offerred espresso, prosecco, etc. Breakfast was lovely, and served either on the patio, or in the small dining area inside. The room, although small, had a wonderful feel... More

spent 3 nights at the novecento, a really delightful hotel. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. Our room was lovely, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was a bit small but the shower was excellent. The buffet breakfast had a good selection and it was nice sitting in the courtyard garden to eat. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
