San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Hotel's Favorite
This is our 2nd stay in Novecento in 8 years. We loved it the first time. We loved it the second time. The Romanelli Family created a beautiful and comfortable space for its guests. From the warm welcome at check it by Christian or Nirvana, to Sara who prepares morning coffee or a made to order egg, or the owners Gioele or Heiby, they all exude hospitality and an authentic wish to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They created the website InsideVenice which we used extensively to research restaurants. We tried several and loved them all. We stayed in room 6 both times - Thai Platform Bed. I love the colors. Spacious, clean, comfortable. In this trip, we would have stayed all 7 nights with Novecento, but on one night was fully booked, so we had a chance to try another hotel across the canal. The other hotel was quite a bit more expensive and it did not have the warmth and beauty of Novecento. I will try to make my reservations with more notice so I can stay the entire time with the Romanelli Family! Grazie mille!

We loved our 2 night stay at Novecento Boutique Hotel in Venice. Our room was well-furnished and welcoming in every way. Importantly (for June) the A/C worked well. The hotel is in a great location convenient to the major Venice sights and within a 2-3 minute walk from a vaporetto stop. Staff was highly professional and provided advice on restaurants and help with directions and other advice. This is an excellent quality establishment and I recommend it highly.

We stayed five nights at this wonderful hotel in June. Couldn't have asked for a better base in Venice during the Biennale. We had two rooms and each was quiet, well equipped and absolutely charming with antique furnishings and fine bed linens. Staff were very welcoming, professional and helpful. Delicious breakfasts and cafe lattes on the outdoor patio were a highlight and the late afternoon snacks and honour bar most appreciated. Loved the size of the hotel....only 9 rooms...and the style and ambience. The art guide to the Biennale and other exhibitions in Venice (written by the hotel) was excellent and a thoughtful touch in each of our rooms. The Romanelli family have created a beautiful and well located oasis here. This was our fifth visit to Venice and first stay at Novocento. We'll be back!!

I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions since 2015 and every visit has been a great pleasure. Each room is decorated differently and with flair. There is a little patio garden in the back with tables and chairs where one can eat the excellent breakfast provided every morning or simply sit and read or talk if it is not too hot outside. There is also a second floor living room area with cozy chairs and books if you prefer to be inside. The breakfast is a selection of fresh local fruits, breads, etc. and every afternoon, light cake and tea or coffee are available for your refreshment. The service is warm, professional, and helpful. I love Novecento!
