We stayed here with a friend in August for 2 nights. This hotel is steps away from Piazza San Marco (literally) and right on a canal. We didn't get a canal-room view, because it was more expensive, we paid 90 eu/night for both of us. Location - as i mentioned already, absolutely amazing! Room - VERY small, however very clean....

My partner (German) and I (Italian) liked the hotel very much. Three stars well deserved, great location (on a canal near San Marco), kind staff, plus not at all expensive. We were very happy.

As usual we booked thru internet. Although I told them I was coming with wife and child they gave us a room with one queen bed, nothing else available. In addition, the A/C was not working properly in the room and the personnel on duty could do 'niente' about it. We were given a fan, and the promise of a...

When my husband booked our trip to Italy, I told him that I had two criteria that had to be met in order to stay in a hotel: private bathroom and clean. Hotel Lisbona certainly meets these two criteria. Pros: Hotel Lisbona is very close to St. Mark's, Harry's Bar and a Vaporetto stop. The hotel clerk was very kind...

We booked this hotel via GTA travel, and it wasn't cheap. We chose it for the location next to the venue for the wedding we were attending. With an 18-month-old and me heavily pregnant, convenience and some decent, comfortable accommodation was our top priority. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Hotel Lisbona has the cheek to claim to be 3-stars. We booked a...

RE - Hotel Lisbona, Venice We stayed at the Hotel Lisbona in Venice for 2 nights, May 11th / 12th, 2008 This was 2 nights too many! Room 16 Aargh My friend and I were given a tiny 10 x 7 shoebox for a room, not large enough for 1 person, never mind 2 adult males. The room was dismal,...

spent our 10th anniversary there, it was very convenient for st marks square and all other attractions, hotel met all our expectations as although it was small it was very clean and the continental breakfast was good quality, as it is situated on a small but busy canal this would suit people wanting to be in the heart of the...

Hotel Lisbona is nicely decorated and in a great location for walking around Venice. On checking in late the male receptionist seemed totally indifferent and our arrival appeared a bit of a chore for him. Whilst most rooms look out onto the canal, our room ( No 16 ) looked onto a side ally.It was unbelievably small and was clearly...

Good location beside St Mark's Square & that's the only good thing I say about this hotel. With two people, two suitcases & a bed the room was full. The bathroom could loose the bidet & give a little extra space. You couldn't swing a mouse in it never mind a cat!!!! It felt we were a major inconvenice to...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
