Well, for a hotel that is 1,000+ years old, it packs a lot of comforts! The location of Locanda is so close to the action that it makes navigating the city much easier than other properties. It is nestled on a small canal that provides...More
We had a great canal view. Clean rooms, room safe. Upon arrival all the staff know your name. As with most hotels, you leave your key at the front desk which is has someone to help you 24/7. The breakfast is great with continental choice...More
Hard to add anything more to what everyone else has said apart from totally confirming that this is a very special place indeed. Not only did the fabulous staff treat every guest so beautifully, I notice that they also treat their own staff well, such...More
We did a two week trip around Italy and this hotel was one of my FAVORITES. Awesome location between st marks and Rialto without being in the middle of anything too touristy. Cool, almost secret location through a private courtyard with a gate.
Firstly, may I thank the hotel (A special thanks to Gigi, as well as Igor and Barbara) for making our visit perfect in this charming Venetian boutique hotel.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We had a king size bed, as did our friends. My husband is 6'2" and was very comfortable. The people at the hotel are very helpful and eager to help. I know they can help you get just the right room; it is a magical place.
