The hotel is very modern with very friendly staff from check in to check out.Our room was modern, clean and tidy and equiped with a little mini bar, the only downfall was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room . The bathroom was also well decorated and toilettries were replenished everyday. The breakfast is superb I think they...

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Carnival Palace Hoel. Room (Red Suite) was great. Breakfast good with plenty of choice. Helpful, knowledgable front desk staff. Good bar staff too. Would highly recommend. Plenty of bars and restaurants to meet all tastes within 10 minutes walk. Vaporetto stop nearby for easy transfers to,from the airport.

This hotel is modern, clean and friendly. We were so happy with our choice. We stayed for 2 nights and it is perfect. The room we had overlooked the courtyard at the back but with the weather being rain it didn't matter at all! And with that weather we were happy to have a fabulous bath to relax and warm...

I originally stayed here after it had just opened in 2013 and returned in September. It was still as lovely as I remembered. It is in a great position, walking distance from the train station and all attractions but set in a quiet corner away from the crowds. It is also at the end of a street which has lots...

We visited for three nights at the beginning of Feb. The hotel is about 5 min walk from the Alilguana stop and is very easy to get to from the airport. Saint Mark's Square is approx 30 mins walk. Bars and restaurants are all within 5-10mins walk. The bar in the hotel is also worth a visit. I would return.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
