The hotel is housed in a historic palace downtown Venice, which has been beautifully restored. The rooms are impeccable, with old furniture and painting, although not original. Service is excellent and super friendly; nonetheless the reception is not staffed after 5 PM, and guests are advised to contact another hotel 30 m away in case of need. Breakfast is OK, but should include a better selection of cold cuts.
Stayed here for x3 nights with my wife for a short mid-term break. Location is superb- took Alilaguna from airport (90mins......bit long after 3hr flight) and walked 5mins to hotel. Just a few streets away from St.Mark's but far enough to avoid crazy prices. Hotel surrounded by restaurants in all directions. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Small, boutique hotel- great character. Room was very unique- but had all amenities one could need (minibar, hairdryer, typically impressive marble Italian bathroom, etc.)- couldn't ask for better. 'Common' room was a great concept as well- coffee on tap all day long with prosecco/ snacks freely available each pm- a real nice touch. Breakfast across the alley was very good- selextion of cereals, pastries, scrambled eggs, ham, toast, etc. What more would one want ? Staff very friendly at all.times. Highly recommended.…
We visited this hotel recently. We organised a private car and boat from Treviso airport, and the private boat dropped us very close to the hotel. It’s in a lovely part of Venice, only a couple of minutes walk away from San Marco square, but very quiet and away from the madness. We had a beautiful canal view from our room and there were numerous gondola’s going passed our window throughout the day. There were a couple of lovely and quiet restaurants nearby too! The hotel itself was very clean and the service was very good. It was very old world Venetian. Probably a bit too ‘shabby chic’ for my style however, I can understand why people would like it also. I love small boutique hotels, with a bit of quirkiness, but I could definitely see hotels next door and nearby that looked a bit more modernised but still ‘old world’ for similar prices. However, it was lovely overall and is really just taste dependant. …
This is a traditional Venetian style hotel,we stayed for three nights. Its not swanky and fitting and fixtures are old but that adds to its charm. It is spotlessly clean and the staff very helpful and polite. We stayed in 106 which was up a flight of very worn and uneven carpeted covered stone stairs .A little caution was needed and might not suit the infirm .Breakfast is served across the alley in a very modern building.Caters mostly for Continental breakfast, the hot choice consists of bacon ,scrambled egg and Wurst style sausages.Sadly this was always cold even at 7.30 when the buffet opened.Plenty of cereal, toast ,fruit and pastries so not too much of a problem. The biggest plus of this hotel is its location.St Marks square is a five minute walk ,as is a major stop for water taxis ,and the waterbus .The San Zacarria stop is just around the corner, catch the waterbus for trips all along the Grand Canal, the bus station and train station. There are plenty of cafes ,bars and restaurants and shops just outside.…
A charming authentic hotel in a historic palace with attentive staff and service and extremely well located. Great meal and trip recommendations away from tourist hotspots, in particular the hotel’s bar ‘5000’. Hotel receptionist / PR Joanna was exceptionally helpful.
