These are a set of apartments in one large block managed from a small office in the block. They are very clean and well maintained. Ours consisted of a lounge/ kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom and I think this is typical. They are located just off one of the main canals in the north west corner of the main...

This apartment has everything you need. Very clean, spacious and well thought out. We came to Venice off a cruise ship and were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to find it. As it is near to the station there are plenty of shops and restaurants close by. It had a washing machine and the clothes were dry overnight. Great...

We stayed in the ground floor studio apartment. It did initially look great -- modern furnishings, strong air-conditioning...however we ended up being disappointed. The WiFi connection kept cutting out, hot water for showering was dubious (not to mention the weak stream from the shower-head). It was within walking distance of the station and had a kitchenette with crockery, fridge +...

We rented a 1-bedroom upstairs apt and were pleased with the size and equipment. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and eating with the little extras of paper towels, a little laundry detergent, etc. Clothes washer was handy. Bed OK. A/C OK in living area. Like so many places, one had to turn on multiple lights to get enough...

I have been to Venice before and stayed at a very expensive hotel near San Marco square, but I feel staying here is the best! It is such a blessing to not have to drag your bags on a boat and then all over the narrow alleys of Venice, it is an easy walk from the train station and a...

This hotel is located in a very quiet little square of Venice, far from the chaos, but very close to the train and the bus stations (so it's ideal if you have a lot of luggage with you). The staff is polite and friendly, greeted us with sympathy. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Ideal place to stay in Venice a...

Best place to stay in venice, away from the busy streets but not too much, 5 mins walk from the station. Quite spacious for the price, i paid eur 80 for a night. For the cons, its not a serviced apartment so you dont get change of linens or towels, hence good stay for 2-3 days only

This apartment was lovely, a 5 minute walk from the Railway Station. Bed comfortable, kitchen well equiped, linens nice, quiet. I would certainly stay here again. Our apartment was upstairs, had excellent security. Reception was friendly, spoke good English and were also knowledgeable. Great option for your holiday in Venice

This place is only 5 minutes walk from the Venice train station and busy shopping street but is in a super quiet spot in a low-rise complex. The staff were very efficient and helpful, and the room was big, comfortable and had all mod-cons. And it had great air-con for the hot summer! We would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
