Great, spacious and well equipped apartment. Close to the bus terminal and station and in a very quiet location. Close to all the valepeto stops and bars and eating places. Good check in service and nice and friendly. The only thing needed is a better light in the mirror for ladies doing their makeup !

Pros: ¤ Great facilities, spacious room and ample lounge with dining area. ¤ all amenities for kitchen including crockery were provided. ¤ washroom was spacious , even had a washing machine, which was especially useful with a baby along. ¤ central train station is a 200m walk away so no worries about carrying luggage across any bridges. ¤ Even had...

Location : 500 metre from Venezia S. Lucia (Train station) and FERROVIA (Water Bus terminal). Plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops around that area. Apartment: The apartment is clean and cosy. Full kitchen facilities. Front desk personnel is friendly and helpful. No elevator service.

Quiet apartments close to the train station and at a budget price. Rooms are clean and generally modern and there is even a washing machine in the bathroom! However, as others have pointed out, the office is open only during certain hours and even though I had made prior arrangement with the office I had to call them again when...

The appartment was first class. Very spacious and quiet. Great sized bathroom. Couldn't fault a thing. We chose it because it was only a five minute walk from the railway station. Would happily stay there again.

These are a set of apartments in one large block managed from a small office in the block. They are very clean and well maintained. Ours consisted of a lounge/ kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom and I think this is typical. They are located just off one of the main canals in the north west corner of the main...

This apartment has everything you need. Very clean, spacious and well thought out. We came to Venice off a cruise ship and were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to find it. As it is near to the station there are plenty of shops and restaurants close by. It had a washing machine and the clothes were dry overnight. Great...

We stayed in the ground floor studio apartment. It did initially look great -- modern furnishings, strong air-conditioning...however we ended up being disappointed. The WiFi connection kept cutting out, hot water for showering was dubious (not to mention the weak stream from the shower-head). It was within walking distance of the station and had a kitchenette with crockery, fridge +...

We rented a 1-bedroom upstairs apt and were pleased with the size and equipment. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and eating with the little extras of paper towels, a little laundry detergent, etc. Clothes washer was handy. Bed OK. A/C OK in living area. Like so many places, one had to turn on multiple lights to get enough...

I have been to Venice before and stayed at a very expensive hotel near San Marco square, but I feel staying here is the best! It is such a blessing to not have to drag your bags on a boat and then all over the narrow alleys of Venice, it is an easy walk from the train station and a...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
