We stayed here for 4 nights in March and it was perfect! Around a 15minute walk from the bus station it was very easy to find and on the main route. Entrance is hidden but that was quite a nice find. Reception was presented really nicely and the staff were great. Not sure who it was on reception but he... More

Paid for room upgrade which was a rip off. No hot water tap & when we asked how we were supposed to have hot water to wash,we were told to use the hot water tap in BIDET!! Also I asked for lower floor room (thinking it would be easier for my wife who has rheumatoid arthritis) to get to breakfast... More

Casa Martini is tucked away behind the hussle and bussle of a street market in the Cannaregio area. When the entrance door slowly opens you'll find a mix of contemporary and classic venetian interior, and as long as you arrive between the hours of 8-5, you'll find a friendly face to greet you. Breakfast was continental and adequate, with a... More

The entrance to this BnB is along the alleyway. Don't let its entrance or outside fool you, once the automatic door slowly opens, you'll be amazed by how pretty the interior is. It looks like the kind of place a high end fashion designer would live in. Rooms are cozy and the windows open up to the cold Venice wind,... More

Booked a room for 2 nights though due to bad weather conditions our ferry supposed to arrive 10.11 morning (day of our check in) was not able to reach shore and 2 days later we were taken to Ancona, from where we had to catch a train back to Venice. So, we missed both nights at the hotel, called twice... More

We had 2 rooms, one with 3 beds and 1 with a king size bed, on the 1st floor, it was lovely, the decorations on the common area were very cute, and we didnt have any trouble to get there. I will definitely choose it again 😊

I had no problems finding the hotel as the directions were very clear. Only one bridge to cross coming from Santa Lucia Railway Station, and two bridges from the People Mover to and from the Port. Once buzzed inside the big heavy door there are some 'killer' steps up to Reception on the first floor but that is the only... More

Stayed in this lovely old characterful building for 3 nights. We found it clean and tidy overall. We had room 3 at the top which is in a quiet position and away from the noise of the main street. Only thing I would say is that we had only 3 pillows between 2 beds and only a thin blanket each.... More

3 night stay at this B&B. Great location, very close to the train station, loads of restaurants close by, could walk everywhere in Venice which means a vaporetto pass wasn't needed except to visit nearby islands. Good breakfast which included cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fruit salad and croissants. Pretty and spacious room but extremely limited cupboard space which meant we... More

The hotel is very Well located. Very close to Santa Lucia station. My only regret is that they had no elevator so it's a pain if you have to carry a lot of bags. But for the rest, everything was ok. We had to wait for the room to be ready because we came at 11 am.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
