Originally booked to visit Venice in April but had to postpone due to an obvious reason. General Manager, Davide has been great in keeping in touch from April until October, making me felt at ease. I stayed at Generator London before so kind off knowing what to expect. But I have enjoyed my stay at Generator Venice so much so that I even extended it. The room that I stayed in has an amazing view of the main island with Santa Maria della Salute, San Marco Piazza and the snow capped Dolomites on the skyline. In terms of facilities, there’s charger socket, reading light in every bed head. (I remember they didn’t have that in London last time I was there so I was very pleased this time!). Vending machine for amenities etc. If you forgot anything, there is a tabac nearby which serve the local community, so can get most things in there too. The bed was comfy. The room was warm. The en suite was clean. The coffee in the morning was great. The Spritz in the evening was a great deal and the pizza yummy too! Great value I thought... and was a stay worth waiting for! In terms of location, it’s on Giudecca island. It was my first trip to Venice so I wasn’t sure if there’re disadvantage of not staying on the main island. Basically there is none. In fact by staying at Generator Venice on Giudecca island, one got the best view of the main island. The water bus, vaporetto is very reliable and there is a stop just almost outside of Generator Venice. I bought a 7 days rider ticket and hop on and hop off the vaporetto around Venice (including going to Burano, Murano and on the bus in Lido). Staffs here were all very helpful, friendly and courteous. I enjoyed my interaction with them. They explained to me three different kind of Spritz that they have and it’s this kind of small gesture or sharing that makes all the different to my stay. I recommend Generator Venice as I have had a wonderful stay here during my time in Venice. Thank you! 😃👍🏻 I …
I’ve spent the last 6 weeks in different hostels around Europe and it’s safe to say this is hands down, THE BEST ONE BY FAR!! The location is good (you do have to get a boat to a different island), the beds are so comfortable and the staff are so friendly!! This place is so clean, has such a good vibe and is so well priced. There’s a bar and restaurant downstairs where they give you deals for cheap drinks and discounted food if you have the app (the pizzas are amazing!!) If you’re planning a trip to Venice, plan to stay here!!
Amazing place! Do not miss it when in Venice. The Hostel itself its amazing, lovely furniture and many features, super clean, fun, and comfortable. Is right in front of the water which is a HUGE PLUS, it is not on Venice but in another little island in front and for me, this is EVEN BETTER because you get to get out of Venice a bit that can be crowded and expensive, plus you get to ride the boat so it makes the experience super whole, and you get to have your own little island, even if it's for a night. The prices are great, both for the rooms and drinks, etc. The staff is super nice, as are the other guests, there´s a really cool chill vibe. Definitely would go back and for a longer period!
I really enjoyed my stay there but most importantly I felt safe because of the hostels precautions against Covid-19. I was in an 7 bed room and they only let 4 people stay in there to make sure there is 1.5 meters space inbetween each bed. The Location is great and the hostel looks very nice from the inside. I LOVE the tables in front of the hostel where you can enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.
The place is very confortable and quiet! I really like the place! The staff is really friendly! The only but I give is that you need yes or yes to use Vaporetto (7€/way; or 20€/24) to go from/to the main tourist parts of Venice, since there’s no other way of crossing the Grand Canal... So it ends up being quite expensive for a budget traveler!
