This hotel is right next door to the Rialto Bridge, could not be closer. Excellent for seeing Venice the city. The boat but stop is opposite which you can go round the Grand Canal for 7.50 euros, excellent value right to the Basilica. You can also walk to the Basilica which only takes about 15 minutes. The Basilica is very... More

the location itself was really good right next to rialto bridge, the price of the accommodation was affordable the staff were friendly and helpful, i loved this hotel as the room wasn't modern it was nice to experience something different, but the room itself wasn't new again which i didn't mind

This is an old hotel that offered value for money and was located in the lively area near the Rialto bridge and market. We were on the fourth floor in a basic double bedroom with a modern bathroom. The absence of a lift meant that we only visited our room when it was really necessary. The breakfast room on the... More

Fantastic location (next to the Rialto Bridge) and great value, which is next to impossible to find anywhere else in Venice. There is construction on the Rialto Bridge. But only during the day. So if you get bothered by this you need to get outside and enjoy your holiday. Good staff, but in particular the night manager Livio is phenomenal.... More

Nice decoration and location but very noisy! The furniture and bathroom are old but it is not that damaged. It was always really warm inside the hotel (winter stay). You get a key room which you have to hand over at the reception each time you leave the hotel.

My husband (75) and I were given a single room with a double bed squeezed into it. This meant that I had to climb on and off the bed from the end as it was pressed hard against the wall. The room had the odour of a dead rat. We lifted the bed to check that the offending object was... More

It's a moderate hotel with reasonable price. This hotel is located very near to Rialto bridge (unfortunately currently under construction, can't take best scene in Venice). It's exactly opposite the Rialto station by water bus. We stayed at 3rd floor, the room is clean n cosy. Big bed (double bed) and clean toilet. Breakfast is nice especially the croissant 😋😋.... Stayed at Marconi hotel in May 2015 for 2 nights. The hotel has a great location in Rialto very near to Rialto Bridge. There are restaurants right next to it. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. It's great if you can find a room with a view of the canal. Our room had no good view but it was... More

My wife and I have just returned from 4 nights in Venice, staying at Hotel Marconi, located at the Rialto Bridge. Simple yet comfortable rooms located centrally within Venice and in the heart of the tourist area. Clean rooms and a self serve buffet style breakfast, with options of cereals, ham, salami and cheese, pastries as well as sausage, egg... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
