Pros: Good location as everyone says, right next to the train station if you have an early train or if you have a lot of luggage. No bridges to walk across, and very central to many tourist sites Cons: Beds were old and uncomfortable (felt very sunken in the middle), no lifts if you have a lot of luggage (it... More

Stayed for one night as part of a longer trip around Italy, and although it was reasonably expensive compared to other places we stayed, the location was spot-on. It was a mere few minutes walk from the train station and the main street of Lista di Spagna. Better still though, was how it was located down a small street which... More

The title says it all. The hotel is located in a quiet lane accessed from a busy street. It is approximately ten and eight minutes from bus station and train station respectively. The hotel is clean and run by a very friendly reception staff.

We were looking for something close to the centre and train station for a good price and found this little gem. It's a super cute hotel in a great location, well maintained, super friendly staff and with a great view facing the busy square around the corner. Couldn't ask for anything more- really pleasant stay!

Convent location near rail station and was great for an overnight stay prior to boarding our cruise ship. Friendly staff and clean although small rooms but ok. Wifi intermittent in rooms, had to use hotel foyer across the alleyway. Close to main thoroughfare but would suggest trying restaurants away from this area due to pricing.

This was hotel with a great location! It was only short walk from the train station. Room was cute, bathroom was clean but it had a bad smell - maybe because the building was quite old. There wasn't air conditioning so we slept windows wide open. That was a mistake because after that the room was filled with mosquitoes!

The hotel is conveniently located near the railway and bus stations, in Cannaregio district, the closest vaporetto stops - Ferrovia or Marcuola. The area is busy, but the hotel is tucked in a small no-exit street. My room had the window overlooking a campo with restaurants and shops and could be considered by some as noisy. If it's a concern,... More

I loved the location of this Hotel. The staff are really nice and helpful. It is down a pretty little alley which is very quiet. It also has tables and chairs outside where you can relax. It is very close to the railway station about a five minute walk. The room is quite small but very comfortable. The shower is... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
