We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and nice and we liked the classic decorations. The bathroom was good. We had a little window that looked out over the beautiful church across the street and the quiet square. the staff is helpful. there are nice places on the first floor to sit and relax as well as... We had a great stay at this hotel. Location is near San Marco, staff is friendly, room is clean, comfortable, and furnished in the Venetian fashion. Our room windows open up to a small canal which is a regular route of gondolas who paddled very softly. During daytime, we were frequently serenaded by singers with live accordion accompaniment from gondolas... More

The staff was very professional and incredibly nice. If your Italian isn't the best, they do speak English as well. Out room was very nice and clean. Breakfast is included each morning and served 730-10. Very easy to get to. If you take the ferry, it's €15 per ticket if you buy them beforehand and you'll be getting off at... More

Dear guest, Thank you by me and my staff for your positive opinion about us and the Bel Sito. What you had to pay cash at the departure, was the CITY TAX that guests have to pay directly to the comune di Venezia, in the amount of Euro 3,50 per person, per day. Usually informations about citytax are given during... More

Bel Sito is a short walk from St Marks and the Grand Canal, but is an oasis of peace and quiet in the midst of the tourist-packed city. Bel Sito sits just off of a little square and across from a beautiful church, and is just steps away from shops, restaurants and cafes. The hotel is quiet, elegant and comfortable.... More

What a lovely little hotel. Very easy to get to from the airport - last stop on the water bus. The position is excellent for all the sites. The staff are friendly and helpful. Could do with a little update internally but rooms clean.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. Lovely hotel, great location - just 5 minutes from St Marks Square so away from the massive crowds but still very close to the center with good transport links. Small, clean, traditionally decorated, very reasonably priced and had breakfast included. The breakfast was great, offered cakes, pastries, fresh pancakes, hams, cheeses etc. as well as... More

Just returned from a three night stay with my wife at this hotel. Superb location, ideal for exploring the area of St Marks Square and vicinity. The hotel is classic Venetian style and is well kept. The staff are very obliging, especially the breakfast waiters. I would definitely stay again.

We came here after a week long trip to around Italy. Since we flew into Venice airport, we stayed our first night at another hotel in Venice, and then our last night was in Venice as well (but at this hotel), which gave us something to compare our stay to. I would say the best parts about this hotel is... More

This hotel was more functional than luxurious or accommodating. The regular double is big enough to fit a bed (older mattress) and little else. The bathroom was also pretty cramped. This is not surprising given the nature of many Venetian hotels and the limited space in the city. It is close to a water taxi stop and Piazza San Marco... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
