As others have noted, the Bel Sito is almost perfectly located for all of the major sights in Venice. The hotel is spotlessly clean. I slept very well. The breakfast is free and adequate with excellent cappuccino. It's a very short walk to some excellent restaurants and has easy access to the water bus. Most of all - the owner... More

stayed here for 2 nights in September 2015. booked this hotel after reading Rick Steves guidebook. After booking online, i realised that i could ask for discount as given in Rick Steves book. when i emailed the hotel about this, they refused to give any discount. anyway the stay was alright. breakfast was below average. Dear Guest, you are angry and you omitted to report several things. You made a reservation directly on our website choosing our best rate available at the moment, that was the offer called “Dolce sapore veneziano” (including a selection of traditional venetian cookies in the room) and that was also the most convenient of all the rates in all the... We booked here on a recommendation from a family friend who is also an upmarket tour guide covering Venice. We were not disappointed. It is situated in the corner of a quiet square very close to San Marco. The room was basic, comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was the usual fayre but good. I can't fault it for the price.

Antonio and his team were very helpful, polite and resourceful. The room and showers a little small, but ever so clean. Stayed on the top floor, with a great view, and the room was nice and quiet. Would certainly stay here again.

I was travelling alone for the first time and the staff here made me feel really welcome. It is really old looking inside but clean. The room I had was very small, but that is all I needed a bed and a shower. St Marks square was easy walking distance and so was the water bus.

My mum and I stayed in the Bel Sito e Berlino hotel in June 2015 after making the booking on booking.com. We could not have chosen a better location. We arrived into Venice at the main train station and took a water bus all the way along the Grand Canal and got off at Santa Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop... More

We had a lovely stay, the room is funky and seems old fashioned in decor like from the seventies or eighties but very clean and everything worked great. The front desk is very helpful and the breakfast is amazing. The only reason I could not give five stars is the wifi went out almost daily for a few hours at... More

Dear guest, I am sorry for the inconvenience you found. We have several access point dislocated in the entire hotel and when you move from one place to another you have to follow the stronger signal, with a new access. Maybe you used the one of the hall and you didn't change it once in your room, keeping so the... More

We stayed here for one night on the 31st October. What a setting our room was on the first floor just opposite the church of St. Maria de Giaglo and just off a lovely square. Real old world charm and what a view. The staff were kind enough to open up 15mins early for breakfast for us as we were... More

We weren't supposed to be staying here, but due to problems at this hotel we were relieved to be staying at this hotel. We arrived late at night and we're delighted with the friendly staff and large room facing a gorgeous church. The breakfast is very good and we enjoyed the pancakes! Thanks for making out stay in Venice memorable!

Wow what a wonderful few days away. The hotel was everything and more. We wanted a Venetian hotel and got one. The room was fantastic, the bed was very comfy, and looked over the canal so, every night we had the gondoliers going past with the odd singer. How romantic. The staff were all so friendly and help on hand when... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
