Well positioned on a busy street close to the station. Good double glazing so no problems with noise. Air con worked and was very necessary in September. Room basic but clean, bed comfortable. Bathroom fully equipped but very small, shower weak and only just hot enough. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our rate and was typical for... More

We were looking forward to our stay in this quaint hotel on the first floor in the middle of a bustling market street, but it was not to be. September is warm in Venice and air conditioning in the rooms in a must. We were given a room on the top floor where the air conditioning was not working. The... More

Just a short walk from the train station- clean and minimally decorated/furnished. Was just fine for a shower and sleep. The management will lock you out if you stay out too long at night. Street noise was minimal and the air conditioning unit drowned it out anyway. No breakfast but there are plenty of choices near by.

Venice has a large choice of expensive places to stay and for many the prices maybe off putting. However there are some hotels in the Cannaregio area which offer simple B&B at a reasonable rate per night. We stayed in Hotel Adriatico which is easily located in the street called Ria Terá Lista di Spagna, This street is very close... More

Appart from the location, there is not much going for this hotel. Rooms are quite small, and a bit dated. But everything is clean and neat - this is what matters most. Very close to the Train Station and vaporetto. Staff could have been more friendly. Would skip breakfast and try one of the places on the same street for... More

The only plus points of this hotel is the location and the staff. The hotel is very close to the train station. There is a steep flight of steps to get to reception so be prepared if you are carrying heavy luggages but I managed fine. The staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly. We got the room... More

this little hotel is a great place. The staff was friendly and the wifi was strong. It was very close to the train station and just a little longer walk to the bus terminal. Everywhere was within close walking distance. Morris, the Receptionist, in the evening was very helpful in providing recommendations. He recommended us a nice little restaurants a... More

Stayed here for a short while and was very very pleased. Located very near the the train station. Easy to find. Cozy rooms with all the amenities you need. And and excellent staff! Mauricio and Luciano are our favorites! They also give amazing recommendations, if we would every return to Venezia, we would stay here again.

This is a solid hotel. Clean and tidy, we'll run. Helpful friendly staff. It says two-star and it dies that perfectly. A great location ... Don't underestimate the effort required to cross the canals with bags. No need for that hassle if you stay at this great little hotel. We didn't try the breakfast ... but that's the way we... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
