You can walk here from Plaza Roma or the train station, which is this property's major feature. Some rooms have view of the grand canal and the roof top terrace provides striking views of the surrounding environs. The desk staff speak English and are very helpful with everything you'd want to know. There is an elevator for those with stair... More

We stayed for four nights, the hotel is close to the bus station and a relatively easy walk with two bridges to cross. Any further into the city may have been a struggle with cases. The staff are friendly, more than willing to help. They recommended and booked local restaurants for us. Our room was cleaned daily which included fresh... More

What a great hotel, our room was clean and completely adequate for what we needed yes it's on the smaller side but you don't visit Venice to stay in your hotel room the cleaning maid was brilliant and kept it nice and fresh. All the staff were very friendly and we're happy to help with anything we needed. Now this... More

First off if you are in Venice for only a few days this hotel is perfect for you. The hotel is very easy to find from either the train station or the water taxi stops. The small hotel is very charming of course and is decorated in old Vencian decor. We stayed on the top floor and there was no... More

We stayed here for a night and that was enough. The position was excellent BUT the room were very small and the bathroom even smaller! The staff were just ok not very happy in their job. Not a lot to say about the hotel.

The hotel is in walking distance to the train station and the Vaporetto. The location is pretty amazing as you can see the grand canal from its windows and the square in front of the hotel. Their staff is very friendly and speaks multiple languages. They will also give you tips for nice restaurants in short distance. While expensive, the... More

This is a fantastic hotel, situated in the centre of everything you need to do or see in Venice....This is a superbly run hotel, with a lovely room, great reception and part of a larger "sister hotel" right next door, where you can sit in a wonderful rose garden right by the main canal and enjoy coffee etc. you are... Stayed 1 night to connect to with a cruise, TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED. Extremely basic, the toilet seat lid came off in my hand and you need to be a skinny contortionist to even get in the shower that is over the bath.the room is basically a bed and bathroom...that's it, if you don't mind super basic with no frills, then you'll... This is a very small Hotel without restaurant and service for drinks. Had two days there and with confirmed reservation but at departure day they charged us a higher price than in the offer...We left this place with a feeling of getting cheated 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿. Be careful when you arrive and read all before you sign anything.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
