I booked a couple of days at Ca'sa Linger during February, but unfortunately I had to cancel my trip. I tried contacting hotel staff and called the listed phone every day fore more than one week in advance, at least 4 times a day at different hours, but with no answer. I wrote them eMails, with no luck either. I... More

Bed was comfortable. Shared Bathrooms were not very clean, but were not very dirty on the same time. Room heaters work fine. Room does not look very luxurious. Bed sheets were not very clean. Lots of stairs to reach to Hotel (3rd floor) in a hotel building. WLAN was ok ok in this price. Hotel is around 500 meters away... More

We stayed at Hotel Casa Linger for three nights. The location was great and our room was nice. It was a bit small but had a sink in the room and a fan which was helpful in the heat. Unfortunately we had to share one very small bathroom, located outside our room and past the reception desk. The shower was... More

We, myself and my two friends stayed here for two nights in mid-July. As some of the other reviews have said, on your arrival, you're probably best to leave your luggage downstairs, as the reception is up a few flights of stairs, and you could actually have to bring your luggage down again! The rooms are very warm and unfortunately... More

Apart from the good location, I would never advise anyone to stay at this hostel. The staff are far from friendly or helpful, in fact they are blunt and rude. When I arrived it took a good 5 minutes for someone to get to reception. I booked a room with a "private bathroom" this actually accounts for ONE shared bathroom... More

These add showed us to an individual house opposite the main hotel.the place seems big as it has a kitchen too. However the room is dirty and there are insects crawling around. There was an insect crawling on one of my friend's pillow. The wifi was weak too and we were not able use it in the room. There is... More

The hostel is small and nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They put me in a private room which was nice. The only thing I would say is the carpet on the stairs needs to be replaced but besides that everything was great. It is in a good location in Venice, a lot of great places to eat... More

We stayed in a 4 bed room which for £40 a night was pretty expensive for such basic facilities - no breakfast, no air-con (a fan), no computers to use, no lockers and no kitchen (which I was aware of). In reality you're paying for a roof, bed, WiFi, toilet and shower. The staff aren't overly friendly and are rather... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
