We arrived to complementary champagne as we were staying as part of our honeymoon. Such a great little hotel and so close to everything most people would want to see in Venice. Will def look to stay here when we return to visit again.

Our 3 days stay en Venice couldn't have been better. The hotel is near everything you want to visit, 3 minutes walk from St. Marco Square and vaporettos. Staff were always willing to help and answer our doubts. Breakfast is delicious with great selection of both cold and hot meals. Both Bathroom and Room were spotlessly clean. Refrigerator in the...

We stayed for two nights on the top floor room with a terrace overlooking the canal and the gondolieri. (Nice view! and you could hear them sing) Huge room (and bed!), bathroom and very nice amenity kit. Breakfast room has a pancake machine and you can have your expresso if you ask the waiters. Great variety of drinks, pastries, cheese...

The Violino d'Oro is THE perfect place for a relaxed, affordable and satsifactory stay in this city. it is ideally situated, just a few hundred yards from Piazza di San Marco and virtually adjacent to world-renowned hotels like The Bauer, which , in its splendor unfortunately, only few people can pay for. Very helpful service , perfect recommendations - not...

Just beside the St. Mosé Gondola Station and Gucci, Fendi, Tiffany, etc. stores! And a few steps from San Marco Piazza. Front desk and breakfast attention: they are really kind and helpful to their guests. Very good breakfast, looking at the Gondoliere passing by. A dream come true! And also at a very affordable price.

I am so glad I picked the Violino D'Oro. We took a private transfer and were dropped off at the hotel in under 30 mins...

We booked this hotel using hotels.com and spent 5 nights including NYE there. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is less than 5 minutes walk from St Marks Square and centrally located amongst shops and restaurants. Easy to get to using public water bus from train station. Upon check in we discovered the hotel room did...

We stayed here (family of 4 in family room) for 3 nights in December and had a fabulous trip. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful, going out of their way to help us get a birthday cake for my daughter (thanks to Giorgio and Daniel for their help). Ideally located to enjoy all the things Venice...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
