The location of this hotel is incredible, right on St Marc's square in the heart of everything. And yet, despite the busyness we didn't have any sort of issues when it came to noise from outside. I was worried that the late night bustle might...More
If you are looking for a place that is most centrally located and you can't miss plus you are on a tight budget Ai do mori is your pick. It is tiny, a mere 8 or 10 rooms, so it can't offer breakfast or other...More
Even though we were concerned by the flowery marketing language (usually designed to disguise a bad hotel) this is a good hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, rooms are decent and reasonably clean by Venetian standards. Overall sense of good...More
Very tiny room and the chair is not something you dare to sit on. Not advisable for someone with luggage any larger than a backpack. To get a key required some unusual coordination. This is close to the main square.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
