I was fortunate enough to only book this room for one night. The only positives of this stay were baggage storage/ breakfast. The wifi was horrible and we had to pay extra, service was horrible, the place was a dump and overpriced. Room was dirty/grimy

We approached our stay at the Alla Salute with some trepidation, after reading their reviews. But overall, we were satisfied with the 2* hotel. The location is great and very handy for St. Marks and the Guggenheim Collection is only a short walk. The Staff, we found, were mostly friendly and helpful. The Breakfast selection was adequate. They have an... More

After seeing some bad reviews on Trip Adviser I has apprehensive my stay at the hotel. However, I was amazed to find the hotel very pleasant! My room was smart and clean with a good double shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good standard for a 2 star hotel, with a good selection of choice.... More

We were given at first an old terribly dumpy non renovated room. The hotel is mostly renovated , but we got room 107 which was terrible, and had a lot of noise from the renovation workers from before 8 am. Next morning we were given a renovated room and that was great. Nice small room, good modern bathroom, free working... More

We stayed 5 days in venice. You have to decide if you want to stay in venice (high prices) or stay nearby. First possibility offers the chance to see venice without the big masses of one day tourists. It depends on your travel budgets. Our hotel is in Venice better to say in Dorsoduro. A nice and intersting district of... More

We stayed in a doubleroom. Quite small but just enough and it was fairly recently renovated. The staff was really nice. The continental breakfast was alright although the bacon and egg was not that impressive. Great location and we had a lovely view of a backyard. The only bad thing was the smell of the room, it smelled like sewers... More

First of all I had to change room because when ever I used the one and only plug with my adapter it would turn the only light in the room off. I asked to change rooms and that was fine. The bed had hair (not from your head) on the sheets. The shower and toilets were dirty and very old.... More

OK, first the good: -the reception room is quite nice and the breakfast was surprisingly good, with a decent choice of food. The location of the hotel was ok, about a 20-25 minutes walk to the San Marco place. Now the bad: Oh a whole lot: We arrived at around 11 a.m. at the hotel, and we were soaking wet... More

Good situated hotel, many well-known places is near this hotel. Room was very clean, staff really friendly and helpful. I really liked breakfast, it was tasty and full. The price was the best in whole Italy where we had stayed, for one night we paid 33€

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
