A small 3 star hotel in Venice, for an economical stay this is OK, building from early 1900's quite convenient but could be a bit confusing to find, very close to Rialto. Room was comfortable and breakfast was adequate setting you up for the day ahead. Reception is 24 hours.

I don't want to simply complain about the facilities at this hotel. Let me start by saying the staff was wonderful-especially Alessandro and Elena. All of the staff was friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to interact with. The room was worn and quite basic. The furniture needed updated and a good cleaning. I know it is an old hotel and... More

We booked this hotel due to its fantastic location and are so happy we did! Our room was beautiful and what a surprise when we opened the windows and found that our room was facing the canal. Venice pure! All day the gondoliers were passing by and with people crowding together on the little bridge nearby to watch them, we... More

We stayed in Venice for 5 days with my wife and choosed Centauro because of the location. Really close to Rialto's bridge and San Marco square. Reception people were really nice and hotel was clean and comfortable to stay. Breakfest was also good. Thank for an excellent stay in Venice!

Great Value hotel in San Marco (the best area to stay) as mostly attractions are here. The location is just perfect. Walking distance to most of Venice's top attractions; Rialto bridge, Piazza San Marco, St.Mark's basilica to name a few. Breakfast is simple but you will enjoy the view on the floor's balcony. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

This beautiful gem of a hotel is nestled in a little side street just off Campo Manin, midway between the Ponte de Rialto and Piazza San Marco. Our room was on the first floor next to the breakfast room, so no lugging suitcase up narrow stairs. The breakfast room is light and airy with a little balcony overlooking the canal.... More

This hotel was in quite a nice position for us, the staff were helpful and the room was fine and served its purpose for two days. The breakfast was fine with a cereals, cheese and ham, pastries, fruits and yoghurts. The first set of steps were interesting.

We stayed here Monday to Friday in June 2016. We were in a standard double room which was a little dark but this wasn't an issue as e don't spend a great deal of time in our hotel rooms. the room was clean and furnished to a reasonable standard. The bed sheets and towels were changed regularly and the plumbing... More

Great hotel and location. Staff are very friendly and the view from the room is nice. Just minutes walk from Rialto and San Marco square. Breakfast is also good, variety of croissants, yogurts, cereals and more. Would definitely recommended this hotel!

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
