The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is situated in the central part of Venice and walking distance from everything. The room is very small and basic and a basic breakfast of Croissants, rolls, cold meats, yogurts etc is served in the morning. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good Wi-fi reception in rooms. Good stay for or... More

Nice location, close to rialto vaporetto station. Close to San Marco and a lot of restaurants nearby. The staff is nice and the room is great. Be sure to book superior double room for a great view at the canal.

The hotel is very well located. About 5 minutes walk from Rialto and piazza San Marco. The room was small but was okay. The hotel is situated in a quite little street away from all the noise. The breakfast was good. Just make sure that when you booke the hotel to ensure that you are not taking a room that... More

Hotel is spotlessly clean and very central for St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. Reception staff were helpful with directions and booking concerts. The breakfast was lovely and consisted of fresh fruit yogurts ect. I stayed in room 16 which was a single room. The room was a bit on the small size with an narrow bathroom and felt a... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Centauro! The location was super good, only a couple of minutes from Rialto bridge, and it was fairly easy to find too, despite it being located in a narrow little alley. The staff were nice and welcoming. You need to leave your room key at the reception when you leave the premises, but this... More

It's located in a central area. Very close to all the popular spots. Very gentle and elegant service from check-in to out. They provide an electric mosquito repeller too. They serve breakfast on the first floor. Good enough selection of items on the buffet. Very happy with everything.

Not the easiest of places to find but worth the effort. Cheap hotel in good location close to all the sites you will want to visit. No lift or bar but there is a mini bar in your room. The rooms are well equipped with everything you will need for your stay and the bathroom/ en suit although small will... More

It was super hard for us to find, we walked by the alley for at least a half hour before asking someone on a shop who pointed us to go down the alley. That's when we learned the Venice is all about the alleys. My daughter and I stayed here a few nights while visiting Venice. The hotel is worn... More

You really can't beat the location for the price. The room and breakfast were acceptable and met my expectations. The housekeepers/cooks were polite and did a good job. BUT...a couple of the men working the front desk were extremely rude. I had a couple of emails ignored prior to check in and another which was dismissed with basically a "look... More

Dear Guest, there's no "some law in Venice that no one is allowed beyond the desk who is not signed into the building". It's simply a security reason for you and for other guests; we cannot allow unknown people to get in the Hotel and Hotel's rooms. Is it weird? Maybe, but we can guarantee the security on our building.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
