Not so many clients when I was here. Silent rooms with hairdryer and phone. Bye bye from reception when we left. Good job!

We had just come from Rome and Florence to Venice and the last two hotels were less than stellar. This hotel was very nice although small, but it was still big enough for our double bed and another single that we could put our large suitcases on and still walk around. The bathroom is quite small (can sit on the... More

This hotel can be extremely good value for money outside the busy periods of the tourist seasons. Our room was en suite with double bed which could detach into too singles. The bathroom was compact yet had all the facilities. There was plenty of cupboard space and drawers. The room came with safe and refrigerator. Although you could here the... More

Good for the money. Me and my partner found exactly what we were looking for. Room was an excellent size, bathroom was good you get what you pay for :) location is good just 2 minutes from San Toma boat station, 15 minutes from Rialto bridge with a further 10 minutes on that to Piazza San Marco

The hotel was tiny tiny and made poor use of the tiny space they had. For instance, my bathroom had a toilet and a bidet which caused the bathroom to be absolutely cramped. You had about six inches between the toilet and the bidet (they faced each other) and then they were both crammed against the bath. Which had no... More

What I liked most about my stay at Hotel Pantalon was that its located in an area where you can find inexpensive yet great restos and shops. The room was quite nice tho relatively small and a bit creepy looking. The toilet was also super small making it a bit difficult for me to move around. I couldn't help but... More

The best things about the hotel is the location, easy walk from Piazzale Roma & Valporetto stop. Room was adequate with good A/C, only complaint is that it was full of Mosquitos when we arrived. We found staff to be quite unfriendly & a bit rude at times. Breakfast was very poor but you could always opt to eat at... More

Staff were not friendly at all. Average room and average bathroom. Complimentary drinks upon arrival (for students) were non existent. Good location, close to lots of restaurants and shops. Easy access to water taxis.

Loved our stay at this hotel. It was very centrally located and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful in giving us information about the local transport systems and places of interest to go and see. We would definitely stay here again in future trips.

Just arrived home after a fantastic stay at the Hotel Pantelon in Venice for 4 nights and I just have to say what a little hidden gem this place is, practically in the heart of Venice with some of the best little eats on the same block! The rooms were very small but as long as you are not the... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
