We made a spontaneous decision last Thursday night and flew out to Venice Friday morning for a long weekend a Hotel Paganelli. The location is fantastic the water bus and taxis drop you right outside and you can get anywhere you want from this stop. The rooms were nice and clean and I slept like a baby. Showers very nice and spacious, modern amd powerful. Staff were nice and we were offered breakfast in bed every day which I loved. Cafe Internazionale next door is great food and good value for money at lunch time with any meal being 10 euros. I would definitely stay here again. One word of advice keep your windows closed at night I didn’t and I was literally eaten alive by mozzies

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Venice. Hotel is in a superb location, room pretty good for the three of us and most of the staff very friendly. Breakfast very poor - the waiter was pretty rude every morning and all we were asking for was things like tea and coffee - took about 6 attempts before they were received.

We stayed at Hotel Paganelli in a double room in the annexe. When booking we did not realise how incredible this find was! The hotel’s location is honestly perfect. It is a 2 minute walk from San Marco, and you pass the beautiful Bridge of Sigh on your way. It is opposite the main water-bus stop which was so helpful for us. The service and help offered by the employees was amazing, the housekeeping was immaculate and the room was lovely. Honesty couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It made our stay in Venice even more incredible. Would definitely recommend & hope to return one day.

I am planning on staying at this hotel Paganelli, in 2021. It looks very nice, beautifully located. One reviewer tells of trials and tribulations taking the water bus which stops a long ways away. Ok, look, just a tiny bit of planning ahead would've revealed the map showing the stops the water bus makes. Then you know!! So if you're not happy with that, take a water taxi- buck up and pay the extra money and eliminate the stress and get taken straight to your hotel. I am always amazed at the lack of planning people do, or they want to cheap out and save 50 euros here and there on a trip that cost 8000euros, and then they complain about what happened. I will be continuing to plan for the next year, and although stuff can happen you didn't plan on, with proper research, you can eliminate a lot of headaches. It's simple, people!

Our first time in Venice and no local knowledge to draw upon, as a result we booked this hotel through Expedia based on a few photographs. Getting to the hotel was confusing; it was not clear that the bus from the airport drops you at the bus station miles away from your accommodation. You then need to get a water bus across the city which adds another 30-40 minutes and a degree of stress. When you get off the boat at the stop you were told by the helpful ticket seller, no-one has heard of your hotel and you're relying on google maps - until your phone dies! We got there eventually. Later we found that we could have got a boat from Marco Polo Airport to a stop right outside our hotel. Thanks for that top tip Expedia!! The location is ideal for the city break where you want to see all the usual tourist sights. it's 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco, the Doge's Palace and the Bell Tower. There is a huge selection of restaurants and bars in the area, though nothing in Venice could be called a bargain. The Hotel room was a bit of a disappointment; small and tired with insufficient wardrobe space and no drawer space at all. I had a bit of a run-in with reception on day 3 when I asked for some coffee sachets and sugar as they hadn't been replenished; I was informed that the 2 teabags, 2 coffee sachets and 4 sugar sachets were my lot regardless of how many nights I was staying! He pretty-well told me that I should be grateful for the fact that there was now a kettle - and they hadn't increased the price! I told him that every hotel in the world that I has visited had a kettle and restocked tea, coffee and sugar on a daily basis. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the hotel mostly quiet at night. Because of the room size, it really was just a place to lay our heads.

Response from La Direzione, Direttore generale at Hotel Paganelli
Responded Feb 27, 2020
Dear Paul, Thank you for writing us your feedback, we are glad to know you enjoyed our location and that you found it quiet at night. With regards to directions, we are sorry you had to overcome those problems in order to find us: we warmly suggest our guests visiting our website or contacting us directly in order to find all the information needed about the reservation, the hotel etc. It is our job (and desire) to strive to make your holiday as comfortable as possible! As far as your room is concerned, once again we suggest our guests checking out our website, where all the details about each room are clearly listed, or asking us for any information, if they need to, before arriving, in order to be sure the room perfectly fits each need. The room you booked, in fact, features a cozy and pretty terrace with a view over the wonderful roofs of Venice, but other rooms have different dimensions and views. Last but not least, we would like to highlight that we have standard courtesy trays which are free and replenished every day. Best regards, Hotel Paganelli
