Stayed one night 23rd July. Room 1 toilet did not flush completely, pointed out to receptionist upon arrival, he promised to get fixed but not done after we returned later in the evening. Decided to do the unpleasant business in the downstairs toilet next morning in the hope of a good flush. Nice classical music in toilet but wait a... More

I'd definitely consider this hotel again for a future visit. The location in Dorsoduro is a major plus with less crowded sidewalks than other parts of Venice. It's close to the Salute stop & the Guggenheim museum. The room was very adequate for 3 people. The hotel breakfast was good. The price is reasonable for Venice. The staff were friendly... More

Stayed in Hotel Messner, Venice for 1 day at the end of a cruise. I'll quickly list the points of concern: -I was put in a room in a sister building of the hotel so no where near my family -Shower tray blocked so overflowed into the bathroom -Had an AC maintenance man knock my door then proceed to open... We had to wait 1h 30 m siting on the table after ordering one single dish for each. The meal was normal and the price as well. If you are in a hurry not recommended! Location is good anyway I will not come here again at all The experiencie is not good and it does'n be necessary to be repeat.... More

I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and you need to lay somewhere for 1-night. The price is really the biggest advantage. I also liked the powerful A/C in the room and enjoyed the tasty breakfast. When we booked 2+2 room (30 m2 as advertised) for 4 people, we wondered how we would be able to... More

I am an experienced traveller, havinged explored many European countries over the last 50 years. Being ripped off happens occasionally, but the checkout at this hotel took the cake. On checkout the increased the room price by well over 100%....and I had to spend over one hour arguing with them. All of sudden nobody remember the price they agreed on... More

Location is excellent but that is the best thing. The service is very poor and the room needed obvious maintenance (large water stain on the ceiling and shower stall was moldy). Only one employee at breakfast, she was cleary overwhelmed and could not keep up with the demands.

The bed and the breakfast and the Internet is the worst thing i have ever experienced! This Hotel is not a 4 star Hotel According To me and My girlfriend. But! The One good thing about this place is the restaurant. Good food and good staff.

WARRNING!!!! DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!! We were robbed by one of their employee. They stole the money from sef (which was locked and the key was with us) while we were out. Great location. That's it. Room was tiny. Equivalent to a cruise room. Bathroom was tiny and leaked all over bathroom floor. Bathroom was full of mold. Hotel was dirty. Wifi was terrible. I notified the front desk of the mold and they did nothing about it. Thankfully we only stayed one night.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
