We had a wonderful stay here in March 2017. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was warm, clean and perfect. The breakfast is really good a nice selection of cereals, bread, meats, cheese, yogurts, fruit juices and fruit. The coffee was great. We really couldn't fault this hotel! Thank you all for a wonderful stay, we can't...

Staff very nice and kindly. wonderful location. valuable for money. cleaness satisfactory. the room we stayed, on the rooftop, had the shower (in the bathtub) not easy to access, which is fine in an historic building like this, but the water ran out very soon!

We stayed here for 4 nights and the area is excellent for a peaceful stay in Venice. Not far to the Accademia Bridge and about 30 minutes to St Mark's Square. The hotel could do with a refurbishment as the rooms are rather tired and the garden has been neglected. Our room was very small with no view but on...

Stayed at hotel Pausania for a couple of nights. Great hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Free breakfast which is continental but it's good, staff are efficient and it fills you up until lunch. Room was warm, interior decor is amazing. Quaint little hotel in a fab position. I would stay here again if returned to Venice.

Very atmospheric hotel, maintaining the charm of an old palazzo, in a quiet but perfect location. Our room was spacious with wooden beams and interesting views across the rooftops, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast buffet was very good, and we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The hotel is within easy walk of the Rialto, Accademia...

Stayed here for 3 nights over new years eve. The area of the hotel is perfect for couples- it feels far less touristy that the main areas, with fantastic restaurants and bars right on the doorstep, in particular some fabulous wine bars and chichetti (spelling?!) bars. Its a short walk- maybe 10-15 mins to the main sights. The restaurant looks...

My daughter and I saw the New Year in , in Venice, we booked into the Pausania for 4 nights. Our room was located on the first floor, accessed via the charming stone staircase. We stayed in room number 203 (I think) which was warm, clean and comfortable. The bed was made up for us each morning. We must have...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This palace was a rich and magnificent residence of an aristocratic Venetian family, now it is an elegant and refined 3 stars Hotel, completely restored. The Hotel enjoys of an interesting position, preferred by the intellectuals and artists, searching for quiet and inspiration. Inside the Hotel, at the entrance, there is a stoned staircase that goes from the lobby to the second floor, once called "piano nobile", where there are some rooms. The intelligent restoration has effected a correct and balanced compromise between aesthetical demands and the non-renounced functional requirements, essential an hotel that wants to keep step with the times. The rooms, in typical Venetian style, are furnished with elegance and good taste, with all comforts (private bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer, cable TV, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, air-conditioned, coffee and thea machine). Our clients can also enjoy of a lightly and roomy sitting-room on the second floor, a bar on the ground floor with a free internet point, and a nice and big veranda overlooking the garden, where the buffet breakfast is served in the morning. ... more   less
