We really enjoyed our two nights at this hotel. The room was beautiful and the location was perfect and the service was top notch. I wouldn't change a thing. We stayed in room 47just last week and you can't go wrong with this room.

Absolutely lovely staff, clean, familial and delicious breakfast! It was a little hard to find, but once I did, I was beyond happy about the hotel and recommended it to many friends already. I would go back 100%. The location is great too!

Cleanliness, atmospheric, rich breakfast, very good location, nice garden, polite personnel. If I have to write something negative, a light smell of the room, like mustiness. But in any case I strongly suggest it.

Hotel Flora is the place where excellent location, most sincere staff, cleanliness, charm of old Venice and exquisite cuisine meet. I was travelling solo, and was not planning to spend much time in my room, therefore asked for the smallest room. And it was small but endlessly charming, cosy and clean! (The fact that I didn't have to pay a...

We had a pleasant stay at the Hotel Flora, the staff is beyond helpful and as you can see they have been there for a long time. Great location, beautiful small building. The morning breakfast is good, plenty of choice, fresh and heavenly coffee.

I was looking forward to my return trip to Venice and my stay at the Hotel Flora. Sadly, we spent 2 sleepless nights in what must be the worst room (#8) in the hotel. The room was located over the front door and overlooked the alley leading to the hotel. The streetlight was right outside the only window in the...

A gorgeous property which manages to feel incredibly well-located while feeling off the beaten track. A cosy, clean room which felt timeless. A stunning garden and gorgeous vintage bar. Kind and helpful staff. Will never stay anywhere in Venice aside from either Flora or its sister property Novecento. The Romanellis know well how to keep and combine the best of...

What I liked about the hotel: - location - 7mins walk from St. Marco, at the end of small side street (so no tourists rambling with cases early in the morning) - beautiful inner garden (excellent for breakfast) - breakfast (wide selection of everything, what I especially loved was home made panna cotta, fresh croissants and coffee) - atmosphere in...

This was our first travel experience outside of North America and we visited Milan, Rome and Venice. Hotel Flora was conveniently located and within walking distance of everywhere. The room was nice and clean. It was smaller than our rooms in Milan and Rome, but that may be how all the rooms are in Venice. We had no complaints. I...

Love this hotel for best service in town, nice rooms, wonderful breakfast and garden. Good value for the money and for the loacation near Piazza Sant Marco. And the vaporetto stop St Giglio, with wonderful view over Canal Grande and the Salute church..

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
